Mike Crane Demonstrates Politics As Usual
Senator Mike Crane, a candidate for Congress, ran for the hills rather than participate in the state Senate budget vote. His avoidance is particularly strange given he is a subcommittee chairman on the budget-writing committee. Those in Governor Deal’s orbit quickly pounced on him.
Governor Deal’s Chief of Staff Chris Riley said that Senator Crane, “walks on budget vote after sitting on Senate floor during debate. Really?”
@LordTinsdale @ChrisRiley__ A real profile in courage

Brian is on point. Here’s the cold, hard truth: Any candidate who tells you “I will not play the political game” is LYING TO YOU. Senator Mike Crane is no exception. He is literally playing the political game. He ran rather than vote on the budget. That, my friends, is politics as usual.
Simply amazing.

Perhaps no worse than Kevin Cooke speaking against the Pastor Protection Act from the well, saying it didn’t go far enough in protecting religious liberty, and then failing to vote on the measure without being excused.
I don’t think that’s what it means to “run” for office. #justsaying
Not being an ‘insider’, I have heard no one proffer a reason as to why Crane skipped the vote. Any enlightenment from anyone (other than biased innuendo)?
