#GAGOP County Convention Weekend!
It’s 10a (ok, a few minutes after) which means Republicans across the great state of Georgia are now convened in their respective county conventions with the purposes of spending a spending a spring Saturday morning inside a building to elect delegates and alternates to their district and state conventions…and maybe a resolution or 20.
What’s going on in y’all’s area? Post in the comments below.

Guess who has two thumbs and is still in bed taking BuzzFeed quizzes?
That’s right–me.
No donuts for you.
I’m eating donuts at the Dade Convention.
Donuts here in Columbus, working through Committee Meetings now.
The entrails of our vanquished foes here in Forsyth. (I don’t mean at the convention…here in my kitchen.)
I’m still sitting at my table. I’ve been up a few times, but I’m still here and haven’t been ran out on a rail….yet. The day isn’t over though.
Also, hi from #TheEstablishment. Or something.
Quote of the Muscogee County Convention so far… “There’s been a lot of talk lately about ‘The Establishment,’ we’re glad you’re here today and congratulations – you are now ‘The Establishment!'”
We’ve elected our delegates and completed our business….now we have to listen to two more people.
Yay.
With Trump trumping the national party and Ralph Reed running the state you guys are just rearranging deck chairs…
A grain of hope for the hopeless…

Results of the Bulloch County Straw Poll.
Ted Cruz 8
Donald Trump 5
John Kasich 1
The Bulloch County Convention also passed resolutions in support of Craft Brewers and Campus Carry.
The resolutions probably got 10x more votes than the candidates.
GSU hasn’t been this excited since Sunday liquor sales passed ! ???
Cobb was uneventful as far as convention forced theatrics go. (POINT OF ORDER!!!1!!1!!)
Senator Isakson spoke early, Congressman Loudermilk joined later in the morning. Attendence didn’t show the enthusiasm as normal years (299 total delegate strength). Randy Evans presided, and did quite a bit of Q&A. He did a good job of balancing the various interests present and did a lot of explaining so that everyone felt invested in the system. He went thru various scenarios but connecting the dots seemed to be preparing most (especially the “establishment” wing of the establishment that was present) that Cruz or Trump would be getting the nomination, but further extrapolating (my impression only – not in any way stated by Evans) is that he was preparing the crowd to accept that Trump is more than likely getting 1,237.
Jim Galloway has a more detailed overview of the Cobb GOP Convention and Randy Evans’ remarks. Bluestein fills in with the Fulton GOP Convention:
