The University of Georgia Public Service and Outreach and Georgia Trend magazine have recognized four communities that have worked across public-private sectors and nonprofit boundaries on initiatives to improve their community and the quality of life for their citizens. Blairsville-Union County was one of those communities recognized for their re-branding process and received one of the Four for the Future awards.
Union County Sole Commissioner Lamar Paris, Blairsville Mayor Jim Conley and Blairsville-Union County Chamber of Commerce Tourism Director Tobie Chandler are pictured with University of Georgia President, Jere Morehead, and Neely Young, Georgia Trend Publisher and Editor in Chief, accepting the award for the entire re-branding project team.
