A Drew Ferguson campaign release states that Ferguson has garnered the support of all five of the former candidates in the GA-3 GOP congressional primary held on May 24. Ferguson garnered 26.77% of the votes in the seven man race and will face State Sen. Mike Crane (26.93%) in the July 26, 2016 primary runoff.
The press release:
Former 3rd District Congressional Candidate Jim Pace endorsed Drew Ferguson today as the “Jobs Conservative” who helped bring tens of thousands of good jobs to his region through low taxes, smaller government and an enthusiastic, pro-business atmosphere.
“Drew Ferguson is the real conservative I want to see representing Georgia’s Third District in Washington,” Pace said. “He is a jobs conservative who has a track record of keeping taxes and regulations low and jobs creation enthusiasm high. Caring about our communities and finding ways to help people succeed and live their American Dream without government breathing down their necks, telling them what to do, is the conservative way.”
“Jim Pace ran a strong, positive campaign and his background as a conservative, family man, and businessman is second to none,” Drew said. “I couldn’t be more pleased with his support.”
With Pace’s endorsement, all 5 of the other candidates in this year’s GOP primary have endorsed Drew over State Senator Mike Crane who essentially tied Ferguson in the primary. Supporters of these candidates made up roughly 73% of the votes cast in the primary when added to Drew’s 27%.
