Also on this date, the 19th Amendment was ratified! “Well done, Sister Suffragette!”
Local news reports Mayor Reed will announce the super secret GSU/Turner Field deal today. Plan will likely include a little used football stadium and baseball field. Dorms, classrooms, parking and some commercial and residential will also be included. While some of this project is worthwhile the two sports arenas are unnecessary. Project cost and financing for this deal will be quite interesting.
Meanwhile in Dekalb the old GM plant developers will get their tax subsidy w/o Dekalb School Board approval. http://www.myajc.com/news/news/local-govt-politics/millions-in-tax-breaks-given-to-redevelop-old-gm-s/
The good news is US women took gold, silver, and bronze in 100 meter hurdles.
I wish they could have found a way to develop that GM site without siphoning funds from the school system.

Trump’s displays of sociopathy are so common it’s hard know them all. They had an early affect on his side kick who’s already probably regretting that neck tattoo. It was easy to miss Pence saying only a couple of weeks ago (when soon after the GOP convention pundits were saying Pence would bring reality to the ticket) that he had “never spent time with someone more devoted to the armed forces” than Donald Trump, what with Trump receiving a purple hear and explaining how he sacrificed for the country by running a business..
The realclear politics polling I cited in a recent comment on Senate races did not include recent polls in the up fro grabs IN Senate seat. A new poll placed Evan Bayh +7 over the GOP nominee in the IN Senate race. An earlier poll had Bayh up even more. That makes four GOP-held Senates seats where Dem candidates have leads close to or exceeding the margin of error.
