Morning Reads – Thursday, September 8, 2016
On this date in 1892, an early version of “The Pledge of Allegiance” appeared in “The Youth’s Companion.” Colin Kaepernick would probably disapprove. Also on this date, President Ford granted an unconditional pardon to former President Nixon.

You make a strange omission on Kaepernick day — do you think he would have disapproved of Nixon’s pardon?
So much fun stuff on Hillary all week being passed up on:
She only had one phone and can’t recall much as she had a concussion.
What ? 13 phones and 5 tablets ?
Steven Cobert skit asking if she is a crack dealer ?
House committee gets a screw you message: from Hillary bunch, told to preserve emails, conference call, emails deleted, IT engineer name redacted……..

“I have great respect for people’s right to believe what they want to believe. And I don’t think anybody should be prosecuted for judged based on what their beliefs all.” – Colin Kapernick
Can we expect him to sit through the anthem in protest of the treatment Kelvin Cochran recieved?
Wow….you take your morning stretches seriously!
Colin: interesting since he is so uptight expecting respect for showing over the top disrespect….hope the fans, expressing themselves, boo him out of the stadium….
Funniest cartoon today was a picture of some female Israeli pilots with the caption that there are more women flying F16’s in Israel than driving cars in Saudi Arabia.
Equal incompetence from the candidates last night at the commander in chief forum. Silly Hilly insists Libya was a success, says she won’t have “ground troops” in Iraq, told us about great things she did for the VA and continues to deceive on her e-mail. Trumpet told us he would “take” the oil and said something incoherent about general officers.
This forum was as much about the VA as defense policy. Follow-up audience questions were not allowed and Lauer also failed to ask good follow-up questions.
gcp,
I don’t disagree with your assessment of the forum, but it must be said that each candidate had 30 minutes to solve all the ills facing our planet. To be fair to both candidates, a veterans/defense forum should allow much more time for serious analysis of the many issues either would face if elected. You could spend an hour just on the problems veterans face with healthcare and other after-conflict issues.
And just to get it out there, what do you think of Aleppo? – http://www.politico.com/story/2016/09/gary-johnson-aleppo-227873
Loved Hilly’s ear piece! James Woods says she can’t even lie without help! Lol!
In defense of Trump, the Generals have had years to defeat the Globetrotters and have failed. It’s time to new Generals. #FireTheGenerals.
wait. arent these the same generals he will be looking to for an alternate plan to his secret plan to defeat ISIS?
i remain confused as with all things that come out of his mouth.
