Morning Reads for Tuesday, September 20
Good morning! I’ve got an array of links for your reading (and listening) pleasure this morning.
- Jeb! was very funny in a skit during Sunday night’s Emmy awards.
- Meanwhile, Laura Bush and Michelle Obama discuss their friendship and the role of the First Lady, during and after their spouse’s term.
- Harry Reid: “This house is crap…it’s a home for old people.”
- (Not that House.)
- Madison might be merciless – but we can learn a lot from that old Virginian.
- One perspective on how Republicans lost the Hispanic vote.
- “There’s nothing better than a scared, rich candidate.” At least, there isn’t if you’re a political consultant.
- Some at Kennesaw State University wonder why there isn’t a national search for their next president.
- An Emory University ethnobotanist believes that ancient herbal remedies can transform the pharmaceutical industry.
- “The eagle is a scavenger, a thief, and a coward. A symbol of over ten centuries of European mischief!” And they are wreaking havoc at an White Oak Pastures in Bluffton by slaughtering $1,000 worth of organic, pastured chickens every day. Will Harris, the land steward at White Oak, views this intractable situation as a tithe to nature.
- Endurance runner Karl Meltzer set a new Appalachian Trail running record this weekend when he stumbled into Georgia fueled by candy bars, Tang, and Red Bull. Clean livin’ FTW!
- If you had a preschooler in your house at any time during the past decade, you might have wondered, “Hey, where are Max and Ruby’s parents, anyway?” Now we know.

And from the “where does the time go?” department, we are a mere six days away from the 1st conference of the (almost) October 2016 sitting of SCOTUS.
Unconfirmed report is that 92 year old GHW Bush says he is voting for Hilly.

Just many of the GOP who’ve taken their ball and gone home. Although the way Trump blistered Jeb!, completely understandable.

Kinda like Zell’s “copperhead” analogy. Spot on!
Why is the Left so squeamish? Remember it’s just words. Save some of your faux “horror” for what goes on inside your neighborhood abortion clinic!
There is also human suffering right, here, too, Drew, by the illegals who’ve come here and murdered our citizens, whether they be “terrorists” or not. Just ask the victim’s families. Their particular crimes would have not occurred if they were not here. That fact is not debatable.
They’d (the odds) really be low if they weren’t here in the first place. Kinda like capitol punishment. There ain’t gonna be any chance of recidivism afterward. I really love those odds. And you are right, he was talking about the refugees. I’m the one who inserted the illegals.

To quote Bruce Willis, “Welcome to the party, pal!”
This is hysterical on any number of levels.
I know…maybe one of their Lunar Rovers could be one of their fine, fine Zil limos! They used to be rather sensitive about their Zils.
An absolute, real hero!

One perspective on how Republicans lost the Hispanic vote was well worth the read.
