President Barack Obama is hoping to flex his political muscle down the ballot in races all over the country–including Georgia.
The Democratic Legislative Campaign Committee announced that President Obama endorsed 10 candidates in the Peach State–the third-highest number of any of the 19 states he endorsed candidates. I’ve been told two more candidates are still being vetted by national Democrats but I am yet to receive confirmation of that.
The Donkeys who earned Obama’s blessing:
Donna McLeod, Georgia HD-105
Bill McGowen, Georgia HD-138
Floyd Griffin, Georgia HD-145
Kenneth Zachary, Jr., Georgia HD-151
Tommy Hill, Georgia HD-173
Erick Allen, Georgia HD-40
Kimberly Alexander, Georgia HD-66
Taylor Bennett, Georgia HD-80
Scott Holcomb, Georgia HD-81
Pedro “Pete” Marin, Georgia HD-96
In the statement announcing the slate of endorsements, DLCC Executive Director Jessica Post said:
“We are thrilled that President Obama is endorsing our candidates in some of the most competitive races across the country. His endorsements highlight how crucial state legislative elections are to building on the progress the President has achieved and to continuing to move our nation forward.”
