Ed’s Horrifically Bad, Largely Stupid and Completely Speculative Predictions for Tuesday
- President: America loses
- Congress: See above
- Trump by four in Georgia
- Isakson by 15
- Dems pick up two in State House, none in State Senate
- South Fulton fails
- OSD, JQC pass
- Lots of judges go “what’s the point of even putting us on the ballot, anyway” as soon as polls close
- 40% of eligible voters in Georgia and the U.S. shirk their civic duty, showing the vitality of our republic’s democratic process
- Much teeth-gnashing and pearl-clutching on non-issues
- People’s worst fears one way or the other don’t come close to materializing

You think Van Ness will win reelection?
Good call. She’s probably toast but my guess is Democrats all over the place were lulled into a false sense of security and stay home, which could make things neat.
Not likely with Clinton v Trump. Then again, Clinton hasn’t excited the Democratic base like Obama did in 2012. Your guess is as good as mine. My partisan hope is she wins reelection (not to mention she’s a very kind person who, I think, would do well for that area)
Ugh. The reform of the JQC is just a political ax-grinding. I hope it fails miserably.
This American Life actually covered it in one of their recent shows with a bit more nuance. It’s act 2: https://www.thisamericanlife.org/radio-archives/episode/599/seriously. I still voted no on it, but I had to think about it. There’s a cool bonus song at the end too.
Yep, listened to that live on the way back from apple orcharding. Good bit.
There are times when I wonder if Ed is paying attention.
Then there are times when I know that he is not.
