Morning Reads for Tuesday, December 13
Good morning! We’re in the thick of what I like to call Marathon Week, where you get as much done as humanly possible this week, so you can meander through next week. Onward into Tuesday, and may your Bullet Journals (I’m not the only one here who does that, am I?) be a column of satisfyingly productive X’s.
- A bipartisan contingent from the United States House and Senate urges a full inquiry into Russian hacking and interference in November’s election.
- Several of Georgia’s Congressional delegates want an attack helicopter battalion to move to Savannah’s Hunter Army Airfield.
- …Meanwhile, Trump takes aim at Lockheed.
- Rep. Earnest Smith (D-Augusta) won’t face criminal charges related to the 93 times he broke campaign finance laws.
- Enhanced identity security measures mean that your getting your tax refund from the Georgia Department of Revenue could take up to three months, even if you file electronically.
- Brookhaven looks to expand its footprint.
- …Meanwhile, Cumberland Island residents hope to keep the island pristine and developer-free.
- I have thoroughly enjoyed the Making Oprah podcast. It is fascinating, even if you don’t really care all that much about either Oprah Winfrey or her eponymous show – and Forsyth County makes an appearance in Episode 2.
- Things are looking up for Georgia in our water wars with Tennessee and Alabama – but no matter what happens, Georgia farmers are harnessing big data to use less water.
- Zoo Atlanta’s 100-day-old baby panda twins have names!
- There’s a new #1 album in America. Click, boom!

Two police officers shot last night in Lavonia, two shot near Byron a couple days ago and two officers murdered last week in Americus. Yes folks, policing is dangerous.
Lockheed is an easy target mainly because much of their stuff has “cost overruns” and in some cases the project is unnecessary but it will up to congress to change the f35 program. It will be interesting to see how Trump funds his military buildup.
Oh my, should read “mainly because much” of their stuff…
fixed it for ya.
I was carrying around a sketch book journal, making lists, flow charts, program diagrams, process drawings and multiple calendars since art school – before Bullet Journals were a ‘thing’. In fact, all designers are required to carry around a moleskin sketch book/journal while looking superior to others. And wearing “artsy” overpriced glasses with monochromatic outfits. It’s in our professional bylaws or something.
