Morning Reads – Thursday, December 22, 2016
On this date in 1864, during the American Civil War, Union Gen. William T. Sherman sent a message to President Lincoln from Georgia. The message read, “I beg to present you as a Christmas gift the city of Savannah.”
It’s also National Re-Gifting Day – 3 days ahead of the holiday, which makes no sense. Perhaps it can be added to Ginny’s forthcoming Festivus list.
