Congressman Tom Graves’ (R-GA-14) office announced committee assignments for Georgia’s Republican Congressional delegation today. In the presser, he says that Georgia is “well positioned to advance state interests in Washington.”
Congressman Graves serves as Georgia’s representative to the House Republican Steering Committee, the committee that determines which congressmen will serve on what committees, Georgia has another vote on that committee as well through Congressman Doug Collins by his position as Vice-Chairman of the House Republican Conference Committee. Washington, D.C. – Rep. Tom Graves (R-GA-14), Georgia’s regional representative on the House Republican Steering Committee – the panel that determines Republican members’ committee assignments and selects committee chairmen – announced today that the Georgia Republican House Delegation successfully achieved key committee assignments and is well-positioned to serve the state. Rep. Graves worked with fellow Georgia Rep. Doug Collins (R-GA-09), who also has a vote on the Steering Committee as the House Republican Conference Vice Chairman, to ensure his Georgia Republican colleagues received committee assignments in line with their interests and the state’s needs. The assignments give Georgia a strong voice in the U.S. House on issues ranging from financial services and education to military readiness and agriculture.
“Georgia is one of the fastest growing states, and Republican members of the House congressional delegation are in great positions to help our state maximize its growth and potential,” said Rep.
