Morning Reads for March 6, 2017
Georgia
- Girls like demolition too. Missed the Georgia Archives Building implosion? Join me in watching it at least 10 times too many.
- Not sure what survived Crossover Day? Check it out here.
- A&E has a series “60 Days In…” and apparently, they came to Atlanta to experience Fulton County’s Jail.
- The State Botanical Garden housed in Athens has a new director.
- The Northern Mississippi White Knights of the KKK no showed in Douglas County over the weekend. I wish there was an eye-rolling emoji on this site.
- I’ll have a happy kid. Only 17 people voted ‘NO’ on a mandatory 30 minute recess for K-5 students in Georgia schools.
Nation
- President Trump is using Twitter. Again.
- Facebook is testing out a dislike button. Great…just what Charlie needs.
- The first Surgeon to do a successful liver transplant has died.
- Kellyanne Conway needed softening, so she did CBS Sunday Morning.
- ObamaCare Replacement Bill text supposedly coming this week.
World
- The Israeli Government is working to decriminalize Marijuana.
- The French definitely rival America in political campaign scandals.
- North Korea is launching missiles again.

The state imploded the Archives Bldg because the building was sinking. Now they want to spend 110 million to build a structure on the same property for the state judiciary. It would have been more cost effective to buy a piece of the Turner Field property and put the building there.
Three kinds of propaganda. Only three?
Providence help us should Breitbart ever post a Chinese attack on the US is imminent, or the Russians hack the site and post that.
Perhaps it was Providence that Comey messed up in his statement about hacked e-mails ten days before the election of an unstable sociopath.
Though my communications may be tapped since I’m a supporter of the enemy of the American people, the media, I take the position that the Trumpublican party is responsible for the Trump menace to society.
Linky for the KKK story appears to be pointing the wrong way.
Speaking of demolition, another building came down this weekend just OTP. 245 Perimeter Center Parkway, most recently part of State Farm’s growing presence off Hammond Drive, had a spot in my heart as I spent 7+ years there (’92-’99) when it was the offices of Verizon legacy company GTE Wireless, before we moved to a new campus off Windward/Deerfield.
How old was that building John? It looked like one of the early 80’s era mid rises that popped up out of nowhere when the city started expanding.
No idea, but I will endeavor to find out!
This link indicates 1980. I cannot vouch for its accuracy. (note: 1111 Hammond is an alternative address for 245 Perimeter Ctr Pkwy)
Ever notice how Trump goes off the rails on Twitter Friday night and Saturday? Jared and Ivanka are observing the Sabbath and are not at the WH to run interference. Just look back…the worst are always in that time frame
and the good drugs are at Mar a Lago…
I wonder what happened to HB324. it’s not listed.
Aaron at the ajc says it didn’t get a vote but that it might end up amended to something else.
If he takes the credit for ‘creating’ manufacturing jobs, will Trump take credit for lost manufacturing jobs? (that’s rhetorical… we already know the answer)

I don’t think I saw this posted here, but I think it is a very interesting story:
As many as 7.5 million voter records involved in Georgia data breach
http://www.myajc.com/news/state–regional-govt–politics/many-million-voter-records-involved-georgia-data-breach/rU2bMMc3tzGkuPvmbjlkgJ/
Who did this? Why?
Curious.
Oh look; a Georgia college is ranked No. 1 at something….

Comey just needs to shut up. Somebody give him something to do.
