Could Atlanta Get It’s Own DOT?
On Tuesday, the Atlanta City Council approved a resolution to create a feasibility study that will determine if Atlanta should have its own Department of Transportation.
As it currently stands, transportation infrastructure planning is “coordinated” through a veritable mishmash of agencies.
The results of the study will be released no later than June 30.
“After decades of traffic, mobility and connectivity being some of Atlanta’s top issues, I thought an Atlanta DOT would be a comprehensive way in which to provide a coordinated approach to making a difference in how we all move around the city we love. Currently, the city’s transportation needs are not clearly consolidated under any single department of the city.”

“Its” own. Not “It’s.”
Nits.
Makes me wonder, seeing as how they just got the sales tax approved for Atlanta transportation projects, if this is a good thing or an invitation for City Hall cronyism.
