Morning Reads – Monday, April 17
Happy Monday, everyone! I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter weekend.
State
- Innovation doesn’t end behind bars.
- Tomorrow is Election Day.
- Duel enrollment classes are quite the controversy these days.
- 400+ animals were rescued from north Georgia.
- Fun fact: I joined my high school’s robotics club. They asked me to leave, too.
National
- Let me be edgy for a moment: Taxation is theft! Ok, enough of that.
- It’s like a new Cold War, but much slower.
- I’ve long suspected Trump’s god is money, but who cares.
- Two facts: 1. I will never be hypnotized. 2. I will never be chipped.
- Just a video of police officers chasing a pig.

Maybe you’ve already been chipped. Maybe we all have. It would explain a lot.

Marilyn Monroe goes to Korea. The newly wed Mrs. DiMaggio entertains the troops.
Ahh Monday morning on GAPOL and we rise to the front pagers bashing the POTUS and await the trolls of hysteria in a feeding frenzy.
“Dual” not “duel”! Jeez, that would be frightening.

Here is the chamblee54 voters guide for the 6th district race.
Nancy Pelosi in disguise….hmmmm…I’ll ponder that one for a second…
DO NOT TRY THIS AT HOME
Remember when the Trump transition team announced a five year ban on lobbying by appointees? That happened a few months ago, so it’s understandable your average Trump supporter doesn’t remember it. Here’s a reminder link for Trump supporters: http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2016/11/17/trump-transition-team-announces-five-year-lobbying-ban-for-appointees.html. — it’s Fox News, so Trump supporters can skip the fake news thing.
Senior White House budget adviser Marcus Peacock was among those that signed an ethics pledge that prohibited him from lobbying for five years. Peacock is leaving Trump’s administration to be second in command at a business lobby group in Washington. No worries, the White House granted him a waiver from that commitment, and besides, the lobby group said Peacock will recuse himself from lobbying OMB for six months.
The reverse is much worse—a gaggle of lobbyists now at the agencies they were lobbying last year. The top White House energy advisor Michael Catanzaro spent last year lobbying for an oil and gas and a coal company. Then there’s Chad Wolf, who has lobbied the TSA for years to purchase hundreds of millions of dollars worth of new carry-on luggage screening equipment, arriving at TSA just in time for the equipment to be tested and evaluated by agency staff. Or lobbyists with objections to the fiduciary rule, such as Shahira Knight, now in a position to weigh in on its fate.
Waivers, recusals or neither? We’ll probably never know unless there are leaks. Trump is again crapping on the people, just as he did with his taxes.
In the same vein Trump is taking another step back from transparency by now keeping the White House visitors log secret. Lebowski, Manafort, Page, Christie, Flynt, et al have been dumped, and Bannon and Conaway seem to be are on the outs. The constant with Trump though is family—remember when Trump said they would not have or would have little in the way of officials roles? It’s family that will be the beneficiaries of millions of dollars in security at taxpayer’s expense as they jet set around and horn in on meetings in connection with self-serving deals.
Is Trump a great Precedent or what? Drain the swamp? Trump supporters for the most part are suckers, and proud of it too.
Well Ms Fonda giving some money to the sixth. http://freebeacon.com/politics/jane-fonda-jon-ossoff-celebrity-donors/
