The West Mims fire is out of the headlines but continues to grow, albeit at a much reduced rate due to the efforts of nearly 1000 firefighters and some needed rain. Estimated containment date is November 1.

Trump’s 1984 dystopia ebbs and flows secure in its GOP embrace and support. Doublespeak example shared today:
“Many people are saying it was wonderful that Mrs. Obama refused to wear a scarf in Saudi Arabia, but they were insulted. We have enuf enemies.” — Trump
So was Melania not wearing a head scarf when she got off the plane in Saudi Arabia a negotiating tactic?
Since we have a few of us interested in high school technical programs and career skills training, I give you ‘The Maritime Logistics Education Taskforce’ graduating class of 2017. 20 plus companies, 1 state agency, 4 school systems (2 public, 2 private), 1 university, 1 tech college and lots of potential.

Also from the coast…
Lots of damage to the south and east sides of Wilmington Island and to the east of Fort Pulaski. The Cockpor Island Lighthouse was damaged, as was parts of the visitors center. The new construction of the bridge to the fort is being looked at this morning.

Dang. Ft. Pulaski’s been taking a beating lately.
The fort is fine, the center has tree damage. Bridge I hear is fine, lost some materials in the marsh. The lighthouse damage is from debris.
I tried to walk out to that little lighthouse one time. Can’t do it. The oyster shells will cut you and your shoes to shreds.

Hey, the CBO score is out. Saves $120 billion over 10 years.
23 million more uninsured than current law, $800 million cut to Medicaid, one-sixth of the population would live in unstable health insurance markets (2020) due to the waivers, and people in states that exercise waivers would be unable to purchase insurance on the nongroup market at any cost.
Premiums would go down for healthy people because unhealthy people wouldn’t be able to get insurance.
