Ricky Best, one of the 2 men killed in Portland stabbing, was a 23-year retired Army veteran.
Gregg Allman shot himself in the foot to avoid the draft.
Here’s to both of them.
Hillary 2020? This is just sad. is there NO Dem with any stones or ambition? Or will they just capitulate and defer to The Peddler once again?

Trump stood for American equality in European relationships.
Merkle was offended when Trump asked them pay their bills, live up to their agreements with NATO and rethink the total tax of 29% on US cars or else. She is also offended that Britain feels it wasn’t being treated fairly by the EU. She is offended that more nations won’t toss out their laws of immigration and many are tightening up.
Europe knows we have their backs so some feel free to behave badly towards us. Diplomacy didn’t help us so maybe Trump harshness will get a token improvement.
The disappointment may be when Congress fails to back the US and Trump up. Not as isolationists but in equality.
Trump is more offended by Germany’s sale of luxury cars to Americans than he is by Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
“The darker forces that propelled President Trump’s rise are beginning to frame and define the rest of the Republican Party.” The GOP inherits what Trump has wrought: https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/the-gop-inherits-what-trump-has-wrought/2017/05/26/4e1943ea-4177-11e7-adba-394ee67a7582_story.html?utm_term=.cd4423a9ad7c
Time was that establishment conservatives were honorable, but those days have faded. Laura Ingraham insulted Guardian reporter Ben Jacobs not fighting fight back when assaulted by a GOP Congressman by saying, ”But what would most Montana men do if ‘body slammed’ for no reason by another man?” Dinesh D’Souza called Jacobs a “crybaby,” and implied that the story was a “scam” perpetrated by Jacobs to swing the election to the Democrat. This only days after GOP luminaries Gingrich and Hannity were promoting the conspiracy theory that a murdered DNC staffer provided DNC e-mails to Wiki-leaks.
“Every time something like Montana happens, Republicans adjust their standards and put an emphasis on team loyalty. They normalize and accept previously unacceptable behavior.”—Charlie Sykes, conservative former talk-show host and author of the forthcoming “How the Right Lost Its Mind
“There is no time a physical altercation should occur.”—Paul Ryan who nevertheless did not rescind his endorsement of the Montana Congressman. Then there’s Mike Pence, “Congrats @GregForMontana on great win & gracious speech. Look forward to having you help @realDonaldTrump #MAGA”
Fewer and fewer Republicans comment here anymore. Can you blame them? There’s no honor in defending a sociopath President and his sycophant entourage, while a GOP establishment bereft of new ideas, acquiesces to contempt for democratic government, the promotion of violence, and debasement of public discourse.
Except that the silence is acquiescence.
Got 6 min to spare on rib watch: Doubt many front page posters and most commenters are going to shift from left middle or far left. The site has gone left and out of reach.
The Washington Post pumps out 1,20o left pieces a day. Bezos has everything to loose from Trump, he has shifted from avoiding sales taxes to being big enough finding to get government to return them in subsidies and favorable tax laws.
Silicon Valley and the high tech companies get multi-billions in largess with outsized influence for virtual public good. Linking the Post is knowing where it is going.
“6 min to spare on rib watch”—is that a double entendre?
Bring back Harry and Konop!!!
They were ahead of the times.
Harry for alternatives facts disputing fake news, and John as a Republican recognizing Trump as an lying about healthcare.
John’s still ahead of his time.
61 million Trump voters just realized again they voted for the right guy…
