Curiosities:
Fulton Commish found an obscure way to take control of the tax digest to create divisions du jour in lieu of a rollback. This won’t end well.
With the world chiming in on District 6, Charlie didn’t write a column supporting Handel.
Actually Charlie wrote a piece that he was supporting Handel and then a few days later he was asked to officially support Handel by joining her team as a spokesman. I appreciate the fact that he has not used this site as a pulpit much as Chidi didn’t in his try for DeKalb Commissioner, Buzz as well on the old site… We all know what it would mean to this site if it became an official conduit for those running for office or their mouthpieces. I think I will continue to use the DVR to watch the local news now that the negative bombardment from the CD6 race has forced me into the habit.
Ok. Moment of truth. Expect “exit polling ” to show a massive Ossoff win. Fake news it will be. Just ask Prez Lurch, Gov J. Carter and Sen Michelle. One last effort at voter suppression.
I love how much Socialist money is going have been wasted on Ossoff!
They spent their own money like they spend the taxpayer’s money.
HHS Tom Price said hundreds of billions of cuts to Medicaid will “absolutely not” result in millions losing coverage. Vote Karen Handel, since it’s up to the poor to figure out how to purchase the Trumpcare that will be available for all.
“The failure of the administration and the House to bring certainty and clarity by funding CSRs has caused our company to file a 22.9 percent premium increase, rather than one that is materially lower. That will impact hundreds of thousands of North Carolinians. We filed a 22.9 rate increase for 2018 based on the assumption that the CSRs will not be in place. The rate increase would be 8.8 percent if the CSRs were guaranteed for 2018. Because they are not, the rate is 22.9 percent.” —NC Blue Cross Blue Shield CEO Brad Wilson
Healthcare, as brought to you by the GOP.
This is such BS. North Carolina has seen a 176% increase in premiums in since 2013. Are you blaming that on the republicans too? Who voted to give us the current system we are living under? The democrats and Obama. That is the healthcare brought to you by democrats. I love how you clowns point at the dumpster fire that your guys started and then are upset with the way that republicans are trying to put out your fire.

So, again. Nothing of substance, but a long winded response that no one will read. Got it. Hope you weren’t billing someone else for your time on that because it’s pretty terrible.
1,289th verse, same as the 1st, I’m Henry the 8th I am…
Drew, you need a girlfriend.
Karen Handel enlisted “Montana Justice” Congressman Greg Gianforte to raise funds days for her after Gianforte assaulted a journalist while Gianforte was running for office.
If Obama had done the same to a persistent journalist, would it have been accepted as “Chicago justice?” “If you check the party affiliation of someone who commits assaults before deciding how you feel about it, you’re what’s wrong with America.” — Frank Luntz
Luntz? Wow. Well, he probably knows a terrible sound bite better than anyone.
Washington Times reports on a study confirming illegals voting in big numbers, the Washington Post will ignore it or flood the internet on why they should.
Good thing the organized far left isn’t interested in District 6 or the turnout could exceed legit voters.

P.S. The Supreme Court is on a good run of decisions.
I’m not going to read that whole story because of the non-sequiter of the third sentence (“a widely cited, independent think tank led by self-described conservatives and libertarians”), but my previous exposure to data like this indicated that, to the extent that non-citizens are voting, it’s because they are in the process of getting citizenship and may not be certain of their status on election day. Nevertheless, it’s up to election officials to determine eligibility of voters. If non-citizens are voting then that would mean they are either voting provisionally (meaning not counted until verified) or they have already been registered and are on the voter roll. So either their votes weren’t counted or the SoS (or whoever in the state is responsible for the voter roll) has screwed up.
Just fyi, in Georgia, if you are running a registration drive, you MUST submit all applications you receive. The organization doing the collecting doesn’t get to determine eligibility, and they can’t discard applications. Very bad to do that. So therefore there are probably many applicants who are not eligible. It doesn’t mean they get to vote or even if they do their votes are counted.
Besides, if you guys would go after the employers who are ILLEGALLY hiring all these “non-citizens” instead of hassling the poor schmucks just trying to feed their families maybe you would get a few of those illegal votes.
Hasen agrees with you.

Gentleman, youse-kin argue over this here instead hey. Or no. (I’m practicing my cheesehead for my trip to annoy the trumpters and special snow flakes in my family in the Holyland.)

Y’all might want to kick around the Wisconsin gerrymandering case the Supremes are going to give a lissen’ to. Somebody’s actchully saying you cain’t cheat the lines by party as we’ve done for the last 230 years. (Use a Georgia accent and throw ’em off).

I don’t have a Georgia accent.

Time to say the Election Administrator’s Prayer.

What $305,700 budgeted for a special court term for the trial of the former Dade Sheriff? Surely that is a typo. https://www.dadeplanet.com/single-post/2017/06/19/The-2018-County-Budget-Some-Points-of-Interest
Looks as if the former Sheriff is accused of stealing around $7,500. So what is your problem if they are going to spend 40 times that amount to prosecute him? [/sarc]
I doubt if the raise to from $70K to $82k for FY 2018 give Dade much of a library but WTH they probably wouldn’t know what to do with $300K anyway.
