In Additional Nick Ayers News… He’s Got a New Gig with Pence
The New York Times is reporting that Georgia boy Nick Ayers is taking over as Vice President Mike Pence’s new chief of staff:
Mr. Pence’s chief of staff, Josh Pitcock, will be replaced by Nick Ayers, a veteran political operative from Georgia who has been working with the vice president for three years. Mr. Ayers was the chief political strategist for Mr. Pence, then the governor of Indiana, when President Trump chose the governor as his running mate.
Until Thursday morning, Mr. Ayers had been seen a potential contender for governor of Georgia in a crowded field. He had been urged to think about running by some of Mr. Trump’s allies, according to The Atlanta Journal Constitution.
The article goes on to say that the vice president is looking to return to “bigger themes” like he was during the campaign. He’s hoping Ayers, in his new position, will help return his focus to ideas and policy.
