Top Democrats Resign to Run for Higher Offices
House Minority Leader Stacey Abrams, Fulton County Commissioner John Eaves and Senator Vincent Fort have all resigned their posts to focus on gubernatorial or mayoral bids.
Abrams is running for governor and it is expected that her rival, Stacey Evans, will resign her state house seat soon.
Eaves and Fort are both running for mayor. By state law they had to resign their posts to qualify for the mayor campaign. Qualifying ends today and 19 (really, why?) people had expressed interest in running. As of noon on Friday, every major candidate has qualified.
The resignations have long been expected. High-profile candidates for all three (soon-to-be four) positions have circulated their names to donors and political leaders for the past two or so years in anticipation of this very moment.

Didn’t we read on here that Abrams had 75% of the Democrat Congresional members endorsing her for Gov? The best of the D best?
Dy-no-mite (stone cold pun intended)
I suspect we shall see more running soon enough
