Walker County To Vote On TSPLOST Today
Voters in Walker County, who rejected the regional TSPLOST in 2012, will decide on whether to tack on an additional cent to pay for county transportation projects. The tax is estimated to bring in around $3 million over the next 5 years for Walker County and it’s five cities.
The tax is being considered as additional income to help bolster revenue for needed transportation improvements as the county locks legal horns with Erlanger hospital over debt payments.
Polls are open from 7a until 7p today.

Doubled Property taxes and now trying to get another 1 %. Thank God I live in Dade. But our leadership is no better. The want another 1% as well. No project list except a pipe dream interstate exit. The think the tax will raise 9 million dollars. Most people already drive to TN to go to Walmart and get gas it is a lot cheaper that Georgia. At one point the chairman said we could cut property taxes by 25% if this passes. Last year they went up 16.6%. Well thank you. Ill keep my penny. I got my no vote in. Trenton is also voting on LBD. Lets hope it passes.
