So Long, Georgia Dome
In case you missed it, the Georgia Dome entered into the history books as gravity brought down the house. Literally. Here’s a video I took of the implosion earlier this morning.

What. A. Waste.
Technically, rubble is waste. Construction waste…
Well, let’s just call it a waste on several different levels. I was viewing the video as a half-billion tax dollars going up in smoke not even counting annual maintenance costs. The Tim Tucker article linked by Kremer tries to wax nostalgic on a building that was younger than a couple of my hats so I don’t consider it a loss of history, just a waste of money. All started because a new sports temple that had a retractable roof and a natural grass field was ostensibly required. They ended up with half of one of those requirements met.
Seconded.
See everybody back in here in about 2040.
