Morning Reads for Tuesday, November 28
Good morning! It’s Giving Tuesday.
- Former Atlanta Mayor Shirley Franklin endorsed Mary Norwood yesterday.
- It’s like Mutual of Omaha at a Savannah park, what with all the drama involving turtles, ducks, geese, well-meaning residents in kayaks, and a “new critter gnawing on the park’s trees.”
- Will the United States be ready for the 2020 Census?
- These kids today don’t have a solid grasp of intimacy and romantic love, and many people feel that sex ed should go beyond “disaster prevention.”
- Quelle horreur! There’s a butter shortage in France, with a bonus lesson on market interference.
- A volcano is erupting in Bali.
- Cringe alert: at a White House event honoring Navajo WWII veterans, the President referred to Senator Elizabeth Warren as “Pocahontas.”
- The passage of time means that it’s much easier now for an American divorcee to marry a British prince than it was 80 years ago.
- Inmates at Central State Prison are translating textbooks into Braille.

Oh, jeez. Of course there’s a Go Fund Me.
So… is no one going to talk about the fact that Trump did his Navajo ceremony in front of an Andrew Jackson painting.
I didn’t catch it. No big deal. It was cleared by the best and brightest. Besides, there was twice the usual Trump spittle this past for day weekend. I think I’m done with Thanksgiving Day:
Trump Tweet: “After Turkey call I will be heading over to Trump National Golf Club, Jupiter, to play golf (quickly) with Tiger Woods and Dustin Johnson. Then back to Mar-a-Lago for talks on bringing even more jobs and companies back to the USA!”
“A property promotion, a celebrity namedrop, and a ridiculous ‘I’m working so hard’ claim all in one tweet. Impressive.” Tweet by conservative ex-GOP speechwriter & communications consultant Michael Freeman.
Indeed, it’s the 81st or more time Trump has been to one of his golf properties as President, and at least his 35th round, unlike his lazy black Kenyan Muslim predecessor that played 300 rounds as President.
Trump is Making America Great Again, one round at a time!
Yeah, just like with Obama I don’t care that he plays golf. Or even a lot of golf. That’s four hours out of that day he can’t screw anything up.
But he goes on twitter while golfing and watching Fox, which CAN screw stuff up. Example, the POW WOW to keep the government funded scheduled for this afternoon.
Probably a Stephen Miller idea.
Paul Ryan is effusive that the $1,500,000,000,000 deficit of his GOP tax plan will create 890,000 jobs, as seen on his website the past weekend. That works out to $1,685, 393 per job. Even dimwits are capable of understanding that that amount will exceed the median lifetime income of those working those new jobs. By Ryan’s standard, Georgia offering Amazon $84 billion (that’s a ‘b”) to locate its 50,000 job second headquarters in Atlanta would dwarf the GOP tax cut in fabulousness, since the Amazon jobs will pay twice as much as Ryan jobs for the same $1,685, 393 per job.
Makes perfect sense for the fiscally conservative Georgia GOP.
(As I sought to recheck Ryan’s numbers, I discovered Ryan since the weekend has changed the number of jobs to 975,000. It’s reminiscent of his running a four hour Marathon in three hours. The new numbers enhance the fabulousness of borrowing money to give to the rich. It’s now only costing $1,435,897 per new job.)

Saying Tony Hovater is stupid will not satisfy the keyboard warrior. Talking about economics is not as much fun as denouncing the third reich … as if the LARP-tikitorch crowd is the same as the Schutzstaffel. SJW twitter does not like subtlety.
LOL! What a joke! Who’s the captain, Thor Heyerdahl!? The Skipper and Gilligan’s bamboo raft is more ominous!

Another one?? Wow!
A former deputy chief of staff said Rep. John Conyers made an unwanted sexual advance toward her and touched her inappropriately twice in the late 1990s, the Detroit News reported Tuesday, in the latest sexual misconduct allegations against the veteran lawmaker.
And let us not forget the sexual foibles of former Dem #2, Al Gorged…

Here’s the current running list. Now stop keeping score.
