Morning Reads for Tuesday, January 2: Sportsball Edition!
Good morning! Apparently, it’s Tuesday – but there’s really just one story to discuss today.
- The political repercussions of the Georgia/Alabama game.
- It’s also kind of a big day for Atlanta’s new mayor.
I’m certain today will be productive for most Georgians, so get back to it – and feel free to discuss the game in the comments.

Amazing game. Exhausting. One guy noted that the players came through it in better physical shape than the fans.
Happy New Year to all.
Best game, college or pro, I ever saw. Period.
If the level of obnoxiously loud overbearing hangover fan craziness in the next week is anything near what I am experiencing in the B terminal of Hartford Jackson as a flight from LA deplanes a group of over 40 year olds (alumni from the looks of it), God help us all.
You’re not sharing that love?! It’s been 38 years!! Give them their little bit of slack. 🙂
There is ‘sharing the love’ and then running up to a high schooler with a Sooner Soccer sweatshirt going in the opposite direction screaming “Your team is a loser sucker” while heading to the plane train – grown man, gray hair and everything, slightly slurred speech. He wasn’t actually mean, just extremely over exuberant. His friend did stop the teen and his mom to apologize. Whole group slowed me down high fiving any one in Georgia wear before heading to the train leading to baggage and I went off to D terminal. I could her a slightly off tune rendition of Glory, Glory with “Bama going to Hell” at the end in the under ground waiting area.

You’re not going to be in Savannah for the SNOW?!?!?!
I’ve been in the land of Beer and Cheese enjoying the negative 25 -38 wind chill while being forced to watch bad movies, and listen to Tucker Carson and some English dude rant about racist trees that are foreign invaders that could explode (so I guess they are Terrorist trees maybe?). Air tem was 8 below zero when I left Appleton at 7:30 this morning. Savannah was 38 when I landed around 4:00. Got a 46 degree improvement in warmth in under 8 hours. Snow… I shoveled 3 times in the last 11 days – bring it!
It’s going to weigh at least 5 times as much per inch of depth in Savannah as in Wisconsin.
Depends on the conditions when it snows. The snow before Christmas was damn heavy. I blow out the driveway and side walk then had to shovel the edges to clean up. packable snowball stuff. The stuff on Friday was powder. Too light to use the blower on the 3 inches that fell.
