Who needs the Middle East?
https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2018-01-03/trump-said-to-seek-biggest-offshore-drilling-increase-in-decades
We haven’t needed the middle east for years and the majority of domestic production is onshore. I don’t know how much vacationing you do in North Dakota or West Texas, but I’d imagine its less than pretty much the entire Atlantic coast. Lets just stick to the Bakken and Permian, and not have another spill down in St. Simons. My two cents.
Passed through Odessa and Midland a couple weeks ago. It’s like the old wild west out there. A lot of trailers and RV’s because there is not enough housing for the oil workers. Along I-20 is a wasteland of pipes and pump equipment.
It’s called an economic boom. Housing will catch up. It’s all good.
The oil in North Dakota costs more to produce. They have shut down a large number of well heads until the price of oil spikes again. Even with the loss of production, housing is still far behind and it has been for then last 7 years. Not enough people to build them, and the market in the southern states has a longer building season.
It’s drill baby drill but NIMBY with wells or pipelines, so I doubt we’ll hear a word about this from GOP gubernatorial or some Congressional candidates.
At least 1917 *ended* better in Atlanta…..with a national championship by possibly the most dominating team in CFB history.
Be still my heart….LOL! Lucy, please don’t pull that football out again!!

That was one of the morning reads you must of skipped. Ginny will not be happy with you.
Quick question for the lawyers in the group. I heard sometime last year as Sessions took over that any federal crimes for Clinton’s server or the foundation committed while she was S of S fall under a 5 year statute of limitations or something, so they needed an indictment issued before 2018, since she left office the first week of January of 2013. Is this a thing? If she lied to the FBI the summer of 2016, she can still be held for that right?
Talk about an old story…Sheesh! “Honey, could you pick up some batteries at Publix?”

Dude, welcome back! I think this will be your and my biggest fight year yet! And with a replenished Eiger, I’ll even have some help against your henchmen, B, Bearse and Ellynn!!
If you didn’t write every post like a brief you would have more time.
You get hired by the impeachment team?
I am no ones henchman. Or even a henchwoman. I’ve disagreed with Andrew, and Bearse many a time.
Lol! If i were Batman, the henchmen I mentioned would be The Riddler and The Penguin anr there you’d be Catwoman-ing all over the place!!
That was funny Eiger.
Bye Felicia
Good for you!! Corporate clients? Private practice?
Lot of states talking about lowering utility rates because of the new corporate rates in the new tax bill. Come on Georgia you can do it. http://www.houstonchronicle.com/news/article/Oklahoma-utility-regulators-consider-request-for-12473807.php and another http://www.chron.com/news/article/Edwards-La-utility-rates-should-drop-amid-12473818.php Somebody let one of these candidates for governor jump on this.
I hadn’t visited the Bitter Southerner in a while. Thanks for the link, Ginny.
“I have absolute right to do what I want to do with the Justice Department.” DJT 27 Dec 2017
It will be remembered, should Trump be successful in discrediting and politicizing the Department, that the establishment GOP’s fear of the Tea Party and greed for a Supreme Court seat and tax cuts for the rich were more important to it than our system of government.
Justice, a deep-state Department, not just a way of life.
Politico story headline on the GOP’s tax bill: “It’s a giant present to the tax lobbying community—K Street lobbyists are banking on years of paydays from the tax overhaul”
https://www.politico.com/story/2018/01/02/tax-overhaul-paydays-for-k-street-261668?lo=ap_a1
“Take craft brewers, for instance, who spent years fighting for a break included in the bill that’s estimated to save the industry $4.2 billion over the next few years but expires at the end of 2019. The industry is already fighting to save the tax break, said Brewers Association chief executive Bob Pease, with a Washington fly-in [of 6,000 members] planned for the spring.”
“….a new bill to revive nearly three dozen expired tax breaks [was introduced] the same day Congress passed the tax overhaul. Congress is expected to take it up in the next few weeks.”
The bill’s sponsor? Why none other than Orrin Hatch. Just because he announced he’s not running for re-election doesn’t prevent him from lining up a payday in the meanwhile.
Drain the swamp and MAGA. And keep the Rube in Rupublican.
Now the Libs say Trump can’t read! Seriously?? Y’all are too funny!! He had a great response!!
https://nypost.com/2018/01/06/trump-claims-reporter-deserved-to-be-fired-then-calls-himself-a-very-stable-genius/
Yeah, just today the Trump said his track record showed he is “a very stable genius.” https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/trump-rejects-authors-accusations-calls-self-stable-genius/ar-BBHW1NH?li=BBmkt5R&ocid=spartandhp
“Actually, throughout my life, my two greatest assets have been mental stability and being, like, really smart,” said Trump, a former reality TV star and developer. “I went from VERY successful businessman, to top T.V. Star … to President of the United States (on my first try). I think that would qualify as not smart, but genius … and a very stable genius at that!”
An astute “Fire and Fury” publisher will have good photos on the book’s cover and back as well as in the book if the objective is more than Trump tweets rehashing Fox & Friends commentary about it.
Is this the return if Corporal Klinger?

It’s last week news, but at least we can laugh about the degradation of the country when there’s nothing else to otherwise do about it while we wait.
Trump to the NYT 29 Dec: “Yeah, China. … China’s been. … I like very much President Xi. He treated me better than anybody’s ever been treated in the history of China. You know that.”
Trump saying the Chinese have never treated anyone any better in the 2,000+ year history of the country is the equivalent of saying “that stripper really likes me”.
Kim Jong-un nailed it when he called Trump a dotard. Kim has others say he learned how to drive at age 3 and is making breakthroughs in cancer treatments in his spare time, something that requires more self-control than possessed by the nitwit in the White House.
At least MAGA Trump knows everyone knows he’s an unstable idiot—hence his compulsion to declare he’s not on a weekly basis. See tweet in comment above for this week’s declaration.”
Michael Wolff: “Where do I send the box of chocolates? Not only is he helping me sell the book, he’s helping me confirm what’s in it.”
Johhn Young has died. Just damn…

Nothing gives we Deplorables more joy than reading mentally ill stuff from you weenies who can’t believe he actually won!! LMAO! First is Jill Stein, then begging electors not to cast ballots, then celebs in “I will survive” video, the collusion, then obstruction, then 25th Amendment! Sheesh! It’s tiring just to read. But He is not going to leave!! And if all the ninnies have is Bernie, he’s got about seven more years of MAGA!!!
The entire human species, no less! Lol!

This “voter integrity” issue is very disturbing.
The commission hasn’t shared any information with the Dem members, so a Dem sued. A judge ordered them to turn over the docs. Then Trump disbands the commission. Now the admin says they don’t have to turn over the docs because the plaintiff can no longer be “injured” by not having the info. However, they do want to turn over the info to DHS to follow up.
This shouldn’t be controversial at all. What is with all the resistance?
It’s the best way to pander to the diminished capacity in the WH that is becoming a characteristic across a national Republican government.
https://www.mercurynews.com/2017/12/20/epa-claims-pollution-task-force-kept-no-record-of-activities/
“The task force in June issued a nearly three dozen-page report containing 42 detailed recommendations, all of which Pruitt immediately adopted. The advocacy group Public Employees for Environmental Responsibility, known as PEER, quickly filed a Freedom of Information Act request seeking a long list of documents related to the development of Pruitt’s plan.
After EPA didn’t immediately release any records, PEER sued in federal court in Washington.
Now, nearly six months after the task force released its report, a lawyer for EPA has written PEER to say that the task force had no agenda for its meetings, kept no minutes and used no reference materials other than Pruitt’s memo appointing them.
Further, there were no written standards for choosing the 107 EPA employees the agency says served on the task force.”
