Georgia Kia, Alabama Hyundai Plants Make Bet Over National Championship Game
As we’re all well aware, Kia Motors Manufacturing Georgia is the pride of West Point Georgia, having produced over one million Kia Sorento CUV’s. It also currently produces the Optima Sedan. Kia has a sister plant in Montgomery Alabama, Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Alabama, that currently produces the Hyundai Sonota and Elantra sedans and Santa Fe Sport CUV. Despite both being geographically closer to Auburn, the state line running between the two plants has given rise to a friendly rivalry and interesting side bet over tonight’s big game.
Today, Kia’s West Point plant is manufacturing black and silver cars (Go you silver britches!) and affixing Georgia magnets to the hoods. Hyundai, is producing a run of crimson cars with the Bama logo attached.
The plant in the losing state will have to host the fleet of today’s specialty cars in front of their plant next week. We know Kia is good at using Georgia’s ports for import and export. Here’s hoping that a fleet of black and silver Kia’s will be exported to Montgomery beginning tomorrow morning.
