Washington Post Columnist: Lying Sen. Perdue Should Resign
I mean….I’m not sure what you’d expect when a clown gets in bed with a buffoon…
Jennifer Rubin writes:
There is no honor among anti-immigrant advocates and liars, I suppose. After dutifully lying on behalf of the president regarding his abhorrent language (“****hole countries”), Sens. Tom Cotton (R-Ark.) and David Perdue (R-Ga.) were outed by the White House…
Honorable men would resign after such a remarkable revelation of their crummy character; neither Cotton nor Perdue will. We still await the appearance of a single staffer of either who would quit in protest.

FYI…this is a CONSERVATIVE writing this. They lied to their constituents for what, for whom? They should both be called upon to resign. Perdue wont be reelected because of this (as if he was going to anyway). Just contrast with our other senator who acted honorably and condemned the remarks
So you want Perdue to resign because you say he lied. Did you call on Slick Willy to resigb because of his? Should he admit his lies now and ask for forgiveness??
He was impeached. So I assume a lot of people called for him to leave.
One silver lining from Trump is that republicans are no longer hiding behind that false moral authority. These cliche / juvenile defenses of the clowns and buffoons are a lot more honest.
NEWSFLASH, a politician lied!!!!
They are not going to admit they lied, (cus we would have proof, dontcha know), What are we going to do, run it through the Senate, and impeach them. For lying. (eye roll). As a ratio goes, Perdue’s numbers of proven/known lies vs others (ie Pres Clinton, Pres Trump) are microscopic. The only thing more microscopic is his addressing voters outside of a closed venue involving a $1000 a person fund raiser.
What will happen is Mitch (if he so chooses) can prevent either one from getting bills on the floor, or rising through the ranks. And every time they open their mouths, some one who has a centralist GOP seat will refuse a hardliners bill, or a GOP member up for an election in a purple district will want softer wording( or no wall) to save the senate from going democratic.
Impeach Perdue for lying??? Sis, you need to lie down and rest!
Did you miss the words EYE ROLL – the non verbal universal clue for sarcasm? You need to get out more.
You do also recall that Clinton was impeached for lying under oath.
This fake outrage is nothing but a scam to allow the Leftist and Chamber of Commerce Republicans to shut people up from raising questions about why we should let our nation be flooded by outsiders who will take more than they give to our nation, who have shown what kind of citizens they will be by willfully and consistently violating our laws, and who steal jobs that Americans should have.
Americans have wisened up in the last couple years of the Big Lie …. Amnesty Today for Security That Never Will Come. Now is time for the calculus to change. We must have the wall built now, The law needs to be changed to accelerate the deportation process, end birthright citizenship for all children born of non-permanent resident visa holders and illegals, end the lottery and chain migration laws that leads to the importation of poverty, ignorance and tribalism.
Once the wall is built across our entire Southern border and major changes in our Immigration laws are enacted, then we can talk about the fate of the falsely nicknamed DREAMERs.
I only have the time to respond to one item on that post, Mike, and it’s gonna be the comment about tribalism, because it’s the one that I take close to heart. In my direct experience, and in the experience of centuries of immigration, tribalism may initially come along with new Americans, but it also disappears with them too. Families assimilate. I have witnessed many many individuals who have immigrated from countries which were otherwise at war with each other, then they immigrate, and then pray together and build family and community bonds with each other when they become American. It is an outright miracle of sorts, and I wish every American could witness such transformation. Swords become plowshares with immigration to America. Ethnic identities are of course maintained, but why shouldn’t they be?
On the other hand, tribalism is something that “older” Americans can create all on their own, by hanging onto some sort of exclusionary American identity, and projecting that exclusionary attitudes upon, and against, others.
Security, fine, but I’d say your pronouncement of judgment of character is just a projection of your own character.
Mike, Dude, as I have said before, you need to post more! At least tell me you read this everyday!
I do and enjoy your posts.
But I need your help against the hordes!!
The Trump administration has delayed deportation longer then the last two administrations, forcing people in privately run detention centers. You should ask the DOJ and Homeland why, and also ask who owns the centers.
If you want to write a law to “end birthright citizenship for all children born of non-permanent resident visa holders and illegals”, if it’s not an amendment to the constitution, are you ready for the federal government to spend a billion or so of tax payer money to defend a law that has proven unconstitutional in the past under a number of SCOTUS reviews by courts far more conservative then the one we have or even one that Trump could stack in the next 2 and 4-6 years (since the 4th and the 8th years is no longer allowed) for filling judge openings?
How do you build a wall over a mountain or through the center of a river? When you cross the Colorado River, is it really a wall, or would it be a dam, – is a dam legally a wall? If there’s a dam we would have to flood up the city of Yuma AZ, and I’m thinking that’s not going to go over well. Who’s going to tell the ranchers in Texas that don’t want a wall in the majority of the cases that the US government is going to take part of their land, some of it in their families longer then there has been a United States of America in some cases, by force if need be (reminder, you don’t mess with Texas – plus they have a lot of guns there you know.)
How long will it take to forcible buy or takeaway roughly 2000 square miles of privately held property, and how much will it cost? More importantly, when will the money from Mexico arrive so we can start it?
If I was the President, I’d do three things:
1) Tell the House and Senate that NO continuing resolution gets signed unless the wall is FULLY FUNDED. The $22B is a pittance compared to the lump of money they would be authorizing and would significantly reduce crime, drugs, and illegal immigration all of which costs our nation a great deal. Even the CBO would score that expenditure as a money saver. I’d also insist that no immigration programs be funded in that resolution since they don’t benefit Americans.
2) I’d write my own bill that is tougher than anyone has contemplated. Then, I spend my entire State of the Union speech selling the bill and explaining the costs to America of an immigration system that is designed for foreigners at the expense of Americans.
3) Then, I’d hit the campaign trail to sell the bill to the American people, with the first stop being Kentucky so McConnell can see the demand for Trump’s bill.
In other words: you’d do everything so ham-fisted it would be deader than dead on arrival?
Not ham-handed on everything except for this one signature issue. He needs to go full out on it. Drive the issue like he drove his campaign. That is how he can increase his political capital.
Right now he is in the danger zone. If he signs the likely bill which is a lukewarm reform effort with 1/10th of the border protected with a wall, 50% of the America will view him as a loser and the other 50% will view him as a sell-out. In the next election, his supporters will stay home and then he truly will become this decade’s Big Loser.
Put the Bully Pulpit to good use!
According to all current polls (including the ones Trump likes), more then 60% of America already disapprove of the president. He is already a sell out, since Mexico is not paying us any money for said wall.
If the president Veto’s a continuing resolution, it would take less then a month before the house and senate over rules his veto so they don’t get voted out of congress.
New study confirms what we all know ….. People who willfully violate our borders and use our public welfare benefits such as education and health care are also unlikely to be good citizens as well.
” If undocumented immigrants committed crime nationally as they do in Arizona, in 2016 they would have been responsible for over 1,000 more murders, 5,200 rapes, 8,900 robberies, 25,300 aggravated assaults, and 26,900 burglaries.”

Illegals …. just doing the crimes that Americans won’t.
Damning evidence! Thanks, Mike!
That’s not really a study. It’s a piece of fear mongering fiction by a fraud.
” A little over a decade ago, he was disgraced and his career was in tatters. Not only was Lott’s assertion that more guns leads to more safety formally repudiated by a National Research Council panel, but he had also been caught pushing studies with severe statistical errors on numerous occasions. An investigation uncovered that he had almost certainly fabricated an entire survey on defensive gun use. And a blogger revealed that Mary Rosh, an online commentator claiming to be a former student of Lott’s who would frequently post about how amazing he was, was in fact John Lott himself. He was all but excommunicated from academia.

There are several actual studies that say the opposite. But of course, this is how it works. A charlatan writes something totally false, it gets repeated by those who want to believe it, and then even though it is discredited, it lives on in legend.
I am confident that it won’t be long before actual experts critique this “study”. But the important point is that this guy has an agenda. He’s not doing research to find the truth. He is looking for ways to reinforce his beliefs. I don’t have time to go through his analysis to assess, but if anyone else wants to, there is a link to it here:

The Mexican people probably do want the wall as well. Right now, Mexico is being held hostage by the Corrupt0-crats (the government) and the Narco state (smugglers of drugs and people).
The wall would end the smuggling which would lead to the people being able to take back their government from the criminals. The wall isn’t meant to stop the many good people from Mexico from coming here. They drive to America and go through our border controls. The wall will stop the drugs, illegals, and criminals sneaking into our country and who destroy Mexico along the way.
The only reason to oppose the wall is if you support human trafficking and drug smuggling.
I don’t b’leve even ol’ Noway could have said this better!!! Silver is right about everything he said!
The wall will not end smuggling. The vast majority of illegal drugs come over through vehicular traffic, across controlled border crossings, in passenger vehicles and semi trucks.
Did you believe him? No! He’s a proven liar but being a lair is only a problem if you don’t share a certain party affiliation, hence, the “what about…….” response.
Mr. Silver… You might want to explain your whole wall requirement thing to Gen. Kelly.

I don’t currently have access to the Post because I’ve visited there too much of late, so I don’t have the details.
But resign over lying to protect a liar? Who are they kidding? The WH is full of such folk. Besides, lying is a badge of honor for a quarter of the population.
