Apple expects to pay about $38 billion in taxes for the horde of cash it plans to bring back to the United States.
There you go. That’s how we can pay for the wall and have some money left over for plane fare to send the Illegal Aliens home.
Apple was willing to expat their money under corporate tax cut proposals congress didn’t even look at in the prior 6 years.
An obese 70-plus-year-old Trump lays in bed eating cheeseburgers, doesn’t exercise, and has 140 LDL cholesterol despite taking 10 mg Crestor is in “excellent” health, a total turnaround, believe me, from the poor health that resulted in a draft deferment, after having tapped out College deferments. MAGA
Let’s see…
It was electors, then recounts, then I Will Survive with dips**t celebs, then collusion, then obstruction, then 25th Amendment..now it’s Big Macs…LM*AO!!!!!!!!! Un-Hinged!
Find a Safe Space, Libs! Go cry with Al Frank(l)en and Conyers!
I actually have a tear in my eye. We got Silver, we got Eiger…if we could get Bart/TJ back, I’d be in hog heaven! Let’s see…Me, Eiger, Silver, that’s three. Ok, anybody know where Harry has gone? Konop? Let’s ask Charlie to allow those two to come back, on a provisional basis, of course!
I don’t know. The Konop flameout was pretty epic, if I recall correctly. I don’t need 750 word rants as a reply to a one sentence question. Also….the writing style….it was real bad…. Besides, didin’t he quit right before he got banned?
Moderator, I don’t know what happened. Just erase this one.
I think so, but he wasn’t a bad guy. He made good points most of the time, I thought.

Fake News Awards:

Tuesday morning Trump tweeted (https://twitter.com/realDonaldTrump/status/953273134655987716): “Trump approval ratings with Black Americans has doubled.” My initial thought was that Ben Carson had talked to his black friends and reported that they all said they liked Trump twice as much as they used to. Turns out the source was Trump’s morning briefing by Fox & Friends host Brian Kilmeade: “Believe it or not, through all this negative coverage, they did a survey of 600,000 people about how black America views this president. His numbers have actually doubled.”
It being Fox, it didn’t take long for Kilmeade’s remark to be proven Faux. The relevant Survey Monkey survey was not of “600,000 people about how black America views this president” but was a survey of around 600,000 people total. The Survey Monkey results provided to The New York Times show that Trump’s approval ratings among black Americans actually declined from 20 percent in February 2017, his first full month in office, to 15 percent in December.
MAGA.
If the government shuts down tomorrow it will be because democrats have decided they care more about illegal aliens and less about the children on CHIP. If every republican in Congress isn’t saying that line they deserve to lose their seat because they are dumb.
Donks and gopers had a deal they could get behind last week until Trump backed away after a session with Perdue and Cotton. Now you have some House gopers bitching because defense doesn’t get a shower of golden coins every week and another group who vote no on anything that’s not a tax cut.
There are reasons Congress is held in such low regard and they’re not all on the donk side.
** edit
Just read about Trump’s latest tweet condemning CHIP extension being coupled with short-term spending bill. It’s hard to keep up.
You know that there is no such thing as a “clean” bill. Of course the CHIP reauthorization is being used as a bargaining chip to get votes. That’s called legislating.
The democrats are voting against the CHIP extension because they are more about illegal aliens.
Sure they would, but why would he do that? Nancy never brought these types of “clean” bills to the floor. Why should the republicans do it. Yes, republicans would prefer give an extension to the CHIP program rather than amnesty to illegal aliens.
Andrew, I simply doing what the democrats have been doing for years. Blaming the other side for not doing exactly what they want.
So democrats don’t want a clean CHIP bill?
Real question -Why can’t Mitch do the 50 vote thing (besides wanting to make dems look bad)? He has 3 dems who have said they will most likely vote with the 48 the GOP is expected to have?
So the vote Mitch used of not creating additional debt that was the key to only requiring 50 votes on the tax cut is not usable on a CR for a budget he already had to not create additional debt around?
Senator Cochran is in DC.
Ryan doesn’t even need any Dem votes. How could Dems be to blame?
Because republicans have asshats like Mark Meadows and Louie Gohmert who will vote no on everything. It is what it is.
Ha! Look at that. Andrew and I agree on something.
Can we all get an Amen!
If you include Glenn Grothman in the mix I’ll give you all a Hallelujah too.
Trump speaking now in PA! They absolutely love him! Can you say $350 BBBBillion dollars to be brought BACK home by Apple?? Really MAGA!!!!!!!!!
Nice….More Monument Madness! Y’all happy?
http://baltimore.cbslocal.com/2018/01/17/clean-star-spangled-monument/
If Trump had ignored the 5 peopling kneeing (like every one else had for the last year) this would not be at the level of madness.
So, Trump’s calling out Kneelers made people deface ancient historical markers??
Of course not. Stop being so over dramatic. Trump (at most) was a catalyst to the madness of which you mentioned. Sort of like I didn’t ‘make you’ reply’, but because I didn’t ignore your post, I was a catalyst to you asking a question in an accusatory tone on a subject you somehow feel “Y’all” (whoever they are) should be “happy” that a set of immature idiots with no sense of history would deface a 100 year old (not technically ancient)statue. I didn’t make them deface it so why should I (if I’m one of the Y’all) be happy that they did? Which for the record, I’m not.
Sure you are. You Libs have been cheering all of this renaming crap (Gasp!! Because a Founding Father owned slaves…) and monument removing crap for as long as it’s been happening. When we see this kind of stuff happening overseas (renaming entire cities, even) we usually shake our collective American heads and think that actions like these belong in Banana Republics or totalitarian regimes. But here? It’s laughable, really. But Erasers Gotta Erase. And, and, and…with absolutely no measurable benefit to those supposedly aggrieved! But it’s the latest Cause Celebre…so Lemmings Gotta Lem and Sheeple Gotta Sheep! So, carry on! Y’all are doing a bang up job!
Over dramatic. You should go into the theater. Maybe go back to Emory and get a Theater Studies degree. Such talent should not go to waste…
To clarify for you Noway, This is sarcasm.
“Deplorables” payback! Lib Hollywood suffering…Gotta like it!!

As someone staring at a pile of paperwork for one of these faith based adoption agencies, I’m more than a little worried.
If you dont mind talking about it, what is your worry?
Now that I am looking closer, my fear may be unfounded. We are looking at fostering children on the foster-to-adopt track. That simply means, DFACS doesn’t think the parents will get the chioldren back. The agency acts as an advocate on families behalf. It will, for example, harass DFACS for you when they are behind on childcare payements for foster kids. DFACS uses them to place foster children as well. I just wonder if that relationship will be severed at some point. I don’t know if they get gov’t money or not.
Thanks for the answer.
My worry is on the other end. When I started the adoption process a few years ago, the first two agencies I tried with told me that they could not help me because I was single. It was against their religious principles to place a child in a non married home, no matter how stable that home was.
I had the same issue when I looked into adoption as a possible option over 15 years ago. I was only doing inquires at the time. Although not told no, after hearing terms like, “traditional” and “what if you do marry”, “co-parenting” I concluded that a single mother requardless of stability and willingness to adopt an older child, was just not a thing here in the mid 2000.
If your faith based agency is accepting taxpayer-subsidized grants shouldn’t there be secular strings attached?
His Rotundness is in trouble. He always seems to get caught doing unnecessarily dumb things…although he’s only recently been replaced. A little courtesy would have been nice. The cop was a goober. A little power…

The tree removal along I-16 is terrible. Not just because of the sheer number of mature trees that have been removed, but also because a once terrible drive has now become AWFUL.
Also, no way someones government buddy didnt make money from the timber.
Why was it cut?
I see you skipped the morning reads Jessica pick just for us…
Seconded.
Must be an election year. This year the PSC rules that Georgia Power must pay back $43 million to consumers. Almost exactly one year ago they ruled that consumers must pay an additional $2 Billion to Georgia Power as a reward for their own cost overruns and delays at Plant Vogtle.
