Morning Reads for Tuesday, March 13
Good morning! It’s about time the Brunch Bill passed.
Oh, wait – it’s passed before! Maybe this time, it’ll be signed. I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again: anyone who thinks that the ability to order a Bloody Mary before noon on a Sunday morning is what will drive one into the chasm of alcoholism, is someone whose life must be blessedly free of actual alcoholics.

House Intelligence Committee Republicans (now there’s an oxymoron for you) end probe: https://www.nytimes.com/2018/03/12/us/politics/house-intelligence-trump-russia.html
“We disagree with the narrative that they [Russians] were trying to help Trump.” — Michael Conaway R-TX, leader of the investigation . “We found no evidence of collusion. We found perhaps some bad judgement, inappropriate meetings…..whatever.”
Perhaps? The investigation never even interviewed Manafort, his deputy Rick Gates, Flynn, or George Papadopoulos, all of whom are under indictment. It’s the thoroughness you’d expect of an investigation by those sympathetic to traitors. The GOP can now return to what they know is the real story about the undermining of democracy, the Clinton campaign’s collusion with the Russians.
Trump delivering leadership and on what he says, yet again. This time his strong words on guns. https://hosted.ap.org/standardspeaker/article/a1b1fbe01d334b9892d9697ece3d0433/trumps-strong-words-guns-give-way-political-reality
Arming teachers will be left to the states. Trump raising the age to purchase to 21 was handed off to someone else. What with the best and brightest like Kushner having made enormous progress on Middle East peace, Kellyann Conway likewise on the opioid crises, and an amazing infrastructure plan, Trump both meeting Kim and it being a smashing breakthrough with North Korea are givens
I expect states to be moderate and proportionate in their efforts to infuse guns into schools. I suggest limiting students to semi-auto pistols and teachers to riot shotguns. Principals get to carry M-4s. As elected officials BoE members can be trusted with RPGs and LAWs. I’d be firm that only the governor has access to nukes.
I recollect they already had a weaponry debate in Gainesville or Hall County a year or more ago. The consensus was that rifles were necessary because school hallways were so long that a pistol would be ineffective.
https://chamblee54.wordpress.com/2018/03/13/carlton-gary-2/ Georgia is planning to execute Carlton Gary Thursday night. The evidence of his guilt is far from conclusive.

As if the Savannah St. Patrick’s Day Parade was not crazy enough with 400,000 people walking around, half carrying Irish Coffee (the real stuff), beer, Bloody Mary’s, over 3 hours of marching bands, floats, the 3rd ID, 1000 of New York fire fighters and a few teams of draft horses – lets add the Vice President and a secret service corridor to the festivities. How are they going to enforce that in an open carry state I have no idea.

Being the state wide election year, every state candidate will be there, US House members Carter and Allen were givens. The senators were up in the air, as was Sec. Perdue – which I assume will now be there. U.S. marshals and Capital Police always have a detail here any way.
This is behind a pay wall, but if you check the MSN home age or Apple News, you might be able to get to it. This sort of expands on what I wrote up last month about designing safer schools – if systems are willing to send the money.

Spot on…

Did it strike you as odd that Fox News had a Hillary story as their second headline…an hour after Rex Tillerson got fired? Like maybe they were trying to coax you if you got mildly upset by the Tillerson ousting…here, let us give you some Hillary crack…ahh yes…now I feel better.
Cause ya know, basically every other news outlet DIDN’T have snippets from a Hillary interview that took place over the weekend in Mumbai. Because its not news.
Or you know, they had these quotes on Sunday, but just decided an hour after Tillerson got fired to publish the article. Almost like they’re distilling the “news” for their “readers”
Old news. I used to frequent a lunch joint that carried Fox exclusively. You could tell when Obama had a good news day because Fox would counter with extended weather analysis or a rehash of a missing blond girl or the like. They’re little more than a propaganda outlet for the gop.
Still?
Any comment on Hillary’s remarks about Trump’s people wishing blacks can’t find good jobs? Are you all ok with that? Maybe I’ll do my own Drew comment of how ominously that speaks volumes about your soul or some other horsesh-t. Hillary continues to make desparaging about her fellow citizens. That hurts you guys, not us.

Noway is falling down on his job by the way. He missed the Iowa Senate leader who resigned over the weekend… oh wait, he’s a GOP guy, not a libturd. Never mind.
At least send a link to the story you’re talking about. Ol’ Noway just loves living rent free in the minds of midgets!! Lmao!
Did The Hag really say that Trump supporters didn’t want blacks to have jobs? Love it! Y’all remember back in 94 when the Repubs were making their commercials that had faces morphing into Bill’s? I’m betting it will happen again but with that face being that of The Hag! Please keep insulting The Real Americans Who Matter!!! She’s better than Santa! Lmao!!
You have enough Mr. P.I. to do a Google search.
Do you really think that you are a “Real American”? You are the biggest message board bitch I’ve ever read. I don’t normally call grown men those names, either. But you are a straight up bitch.
When are you going to run and cry to mama like you did last month?
All of this from The Weenies because I attached an unflattering cartoon of The Hag! I absolutely love it!! So, Doctor, where or when is your next semi threatening message to me? I niss those, actually. Your side has been absolutely bat sh-t since Trump won. It’s the best political theater I’ve ever witnessed!!
Quick note: Notice how Nobody gloated about or even mentioned the political party that Michael Schaeffer belongs to when the sexual assault complaint was filed against him. Because it’s an irrelevant circumstance. But perhaps this is a teaching moment for Nobody.
Nah…
Tongues? No Tongues? But did Noway catch this related gem? Trump told the crowd at a rally to look at Democratic candidate Conor’s Lamb record on abortion and said “it shows where he’ll go.”
Conor Lamb is running for office for the first time.
The Pennsylvania special election is to replace Republican Rep. Tim Murphy, who resigned last year amid revelations of an extramarital affair in which the anti-abortion lawmaker urged his mistress to get an abortion when he thought she was pregnant.
Millard Fillmore would out-debate him blacked out drunk.
I thought Trump was smarter before he became president, he really isn’t that intelligent by most measures. He is a sham billionaire if he even is one.
Looks like y’all nabbed the seat last night. Congrats! We have work to do. Serious work. Thank God for this result this far out. Gives us time to sharpen our message. I wonder, though, if Saccone will tour the district insulting those who voted against him?
You still treat politics like sports. But WTH, I’ll play. Imagine what the spread would have been without that brilliant unscripted stump speech from the president.
Just one quote though there are many other lowlights I could take on:
[Referring to Conor Lamb] “I hear he’s better looking. I think I’m better looking than him. I do. I do.”
Honestly? Your guy would have won by 5! Trump got his base stirred up, just not enough.
Drew…y’all won! But you’re still all bothered.
Stop tarring with the Y’all and “Your guy” brush and crawl down off your cross. I didn’t follow either candidate enough to even have an opinion and I also don’t form my opinions on the basis of which team they’re playing for. You are like the classic pro sports fan who doesn’t even care who the players are or how the game is played. As Seinfeld once said of such fans, you are just rooting for laundry.
Did you actually listen to Trump’s stump speech. Has he fired his speechwriters as well? That meandering nonsensical monologue was chock full of material for SNL. He took credit for Pennsylvania steel mills reopening when only 2 days had transpired from his declaration of tariffs. Others in no particular order (just like the speech):
“Your coal — by the way, folks, some of you are in the coal world, your coal is coming back big, big, big.”
“Women, women, we love you, we love you.” “We got 52%, right, 52.” (Actually Trump won only 41 percent of the vote from all women, he received 52% of the vote from white women).
Even Ronald Reagan can’t hold up to Trump’s own magnificence: “He was a great cheerleader for the country. But not great on the trade.”
“Did I do a good job? Atlanta? […] So I brought him down [Jon Ossoff] in a period of four days, brought him down from 58 to 48.” This is LOL funny on so many levels. I bet Charlie has an opinion on how much Trump ‘helped’ the Handel campaign. One thing for certain, the PA crowd was thinking Who?
Not surprisingly, I say it here…it comes out here.

Is last night’s winner gonna have to run again in November?
So, they’re gonna redraw now or after November?
