Monday Morning Reads – April 9
Happy Monday, everyone! Grilling season has officially begun (if the weather cooperates)
News by the Numbers
12 minutes – Georgia’s eavesdropping laws could be reshaped after Georgia Subsequent Injury Trust Director *takes deep breath* Mike Coan was charged with allegedly eavesdropping for 12 minutes on an employee’s butt-dial and subsequently firing him after hearing the less-than-desirable conversation.
$20 million – Despite cyber security experts national security officials, and state lawmakers acknowledge Georgia’s election system isn’t secure, but the 2018 midterms will still use our 16-year-old machines. Georgia is $20 million short of a complete election system overhaul. And some lawmakers aren’t even trying to sell ballot security to voters anymore.
2000 troops – Last week, President Trump announced a rapid withdraw of 2000 U.S. troops from Syria. Then yesterday, he tweeted, “President Putin, Russia and Iran are responsible for backing Animal Assad. Big price to pay.” Homeland security Thomas Bossert said nothing should be taken off the table.
356 cemeteries – Don’t mess with Harris County, or else one of their armed citizens will shoot you. That’s what Harris County Sheriff Mike Jolley wants you to know. Sheriff Jolley’s unconventional, yet amazing sign reads: “Welcome to Harris County, Georgia. Our citizens have concealed weapons. If you kill someone, we might kill you back. We have ONE jail and 356 cemeteries. Enjoy your stay!”
13 years – The United States surgeon general issued a rare national advisory — the first since 2005 when Richard Carmona advised women not to drink alcohol when pregnant — urging Americans to carry naloxone, a drug used to revive people overdosing on opioids.
15 minutes of fame – Okay, I’m sorry for sharing this, but I’m a #Millenial. Cardi B released Invasion of Privacy and it’s incredible. The best line: “My little 15 minutes of fame lasted long as hell, huh?”
Developing Story – Sumter County DA found dead. GBI is investigating.

Love Patrick Reed! His brash attitude is refreshing. All we need is Gordon Solie to stoke his bravado. He spoke of the Grand Slam, not the career GS, the calendar year GS! Lord is he confident!!!! I think Ryder Cup is this Fall. What fun!! Rory tried the psych out. But on this stage, Rory shrank in predicable fashion.
Haters gotta hate. Not even you, Little Snivler, on this day, can dampen my mood or throw cold water on the emergence of a Great, Patriotic, Unabashed American Champion! You just keep cruising the internet searching for your next Symbolic Statue to tip or some Successful Pocket to raid!
Well, I guess that guarantees him a resting spot in Arlington. Let’s see:
“documented record of cheating” – Teddy Kennedy, Spanish Class, Harvard
“being an out-and-out criminal.” – Teddy Kennedy, Murderer at Chappaquiddick
Thanks for that reminder!
He did have some problems in his youth. he seems to have matured from everything i’ve seen. i wouldn’t call myself a fan of his, but i’m willing to see how he handles the bright spotlight light now that he is a master’s champion…he almost won me over at the ryder cup, but not quite…
Ryder Cup is this fall, in Spain I believe.
Mom inherited my dad’s founding membership at the Kohler Club, with included his place in line for 2020 Ryder tickets. Mom still pays out the yearly dues (which does not include the green fees) and we use the membership for eating at the American Club or for special events, I use the spa, the pub and stores. The sibling gets access to the courses coastline for ice fishing in the winter. I’m looking forward to the Ryder tickets.

Y’all are getting ripped off on your music.
You want to expand on that….
Anybody who pays money for lyrics like “My little 15 minutes of fame lasted long as hell, huh?” (on a debut album no less), or “You fine as hell. Hope your wallet got condoms in it”, or “I need Chrissy Tiegen/Know a bad bitch when I see one/Tell RiRi I need a threesome”, is getting ripped off.
Maybe the music is good. Somehow I doubt it. 🙂
I will admit that things like
“Well, I’m hot blooded, check it and see
I got a fever of a hundred and three
Come on baby, do you do more than dance?
I’m hot blooded, I’m hot blooded”
aren’t exactly Library of Congress worthy either.

It should be noted that the US capital is not the most ‘new mother’ friendly of places. Maybe Mrs. Kushner can look in on this as part of her working mother’s projects..
To any women who read this…can you imagine having a baby when you are FIFTY 50 years old??? God Bless her. Thats all I have to say. My sister (turned 52 this week) looked at me in horror when I asked her.
The US DA for the Southern District of New York issued a search warrant on a referral from the Special Counsel’s Office, and the FBI raided Michael Cohn’s office this morning.

In defense of Noway’s flare for men’s accessories, he did steer me in the right direction for some water proof Leatherman thingy to buy for my baby brother’s Christmas gift in 2015.
Noway doesn’t shop at Billy Reid? (Sorry, I know I usually only comment on transportation issues, but I couldn’t resist)

I’ve never seen Norway…have you? (thus I cannot comment on his fashion sense)
