Denis O’Hayer is one of the few broadcast journalists that actually fits the title. I have fond memories of the late seventies WGST and its All News format with O’Hayer in the field and Forrest Sawyer in the studio.
I knew his retirement was coming. I suspected as much when he had more morning absences and they started trialing/testing new voices. He is going to be so incredibly missed. Such a consummate and thoughtful journalist. His Political Breakfast segments have been some of my favorites over the last couple of years.
Going to miss him. Hope he pops in often on Emeritus status like Steve Goss (who is also missed).

Not that these one note-leftists, who get all their news from Daily Kos or reasonable facsimiles thereof such as the mainstream media, would notice, but the Mueller investigation is beginning to implode before our very eyes.
Among other things, do not be surprised if the new judge in the Flynn case tosses his guilty plea.
First, I am not an attorney. And I do realize a judge tossing a guilty plea is extremely rare. But what the feds did to Flynn was disgraceful imo. Remove the name involved, and the prosecutorial abuse in this case should concern everyone. And the new judge seems to be troubled by it. And I know nothing of who the new judge is or whether he was an R or D appointment. His concerns may well be why he keeps putting off the sentencing.
I mean come on. How can the feds prosecute a “ making false statements “ case, when the FBI agents investigating the case reported that they did not believe Flynn lied? And the feds don’t even let Flynn’s attorneys know this somewhat pertinent fact? Would that not be required in discovery?
Flynn may or may not be sleazy. But I believe he copped because he was bleeding attorney fees plus the feds were reportedly gonna also squeeze his son.
Remove the name and the association with Trump and tell the truth. Does this type of prosecution not concern you?
Drew, bottom line: the FBI used a bought and paid for piece of known oppo research and lied by omission to trick the FISA judge to issue the warrant. That is a felony. ‘Nuther bottom line: their is indesputable conflicts of interest with the fuc–g kangaroo court that is falling down right before our eyes. The only folks that will perp walk will be Justice Department personnel who are breathtakingly corrupt. Comey and Mueller himself come to mind. Don’t forget McCabe, too. And none of their literally putrid actions would have ever been know in a Hag Administration. All if these folks are going down faster than Stormy Daniels!
You don’t have to be a lawyer, Alpha, to smell the sickening corruption with everything associated with this Mueller vendetta.
You’re so invested in this case, you cannot say that anything bad will happen to your side’s efforts. Mountains of conflicts appear from texts to lied Fisa warrents and you just put your hands over your eyes.
A Marine Captain who served with distinction in Vietnam including a Bronze Star with a V (for valor), degree from Princeton, law degree from UVA, and FBI Director for 12 years (nominated by Bush II), gets called a dipshit by Noway. I know who that belittles in my mind.
All because he is tasked by the very necessary 3rd branch of our government to investigate a more than hinky reality teevee whore monger who doesn’t understand why he can’t just declare himself emperor. Mueller made these “show” indictments just garner press. Now one of his targets decides to call his bluff! Hysterical! Discovery!!!’ The Dipsh-t drantically calls for a delay and gets denied!! Lmao!!! Crash 2 is being filmed right before our eyes! God, life is good!!

Well Cook is one of the 50 Georgia Counties considered “distressed” in the article Ed recently referenced: “There are 50 “distressed” counties meaning they rank in the worst 10 percent of the country’s counties.”
Revenues are likely down from civil forfeitures as well so what’s a sheriff to do? Georgia counties and municipalities have a long history of fleecing Yankees off of I75 traffic and what-the-hey, Canucks have even less rights than the Yankees.
Seriously though, this kind of ignorance of the law by supposed law enforcement personnel is inexcusable. Not that any have been offered or even an apology for that matter.

The politicians and pundits can play politics with this investigation, but the justice department is supposed to get to the truth, wherever it goes.
But more to your point, even the ridiculously biased House Intelligence investigation couldn’t pin anything on any Dems, so what makes you think an objective investigation would?
There remains a lot to sort out between the political and legal, between the branches of gov. Amidst it all, I trust the judiciary to sort it out the best.
