On this date in 1954, the Supreme Court unanimously ruled for school integration in Brown vs. Board of Education of Topeka. The ruling declared that racially segregated schools were inherently unequal.

The case of #BBQBecky is well known by now. What is not being reported is that the park did not allow portable charcoal grills to be used. Burning charcoal is not a right guaranteed by the constitution.

Yes the Eagles Landing bills signed into law set a very dangerous precedent indeed. Imagine what would happen to say, Atlanta, if the white elite neighborhoods were allowed to secede and create their own fiefdoms.
Was that not the basic idea behind Milton when it was created a few years back?
Milton was formed out of unincorporated Fulton County as have been many other incorporations in recent years. To my knowledge this is first allowing a secession from an existing city.

If only capitalist entrepreneurs hadn’t had so much success selling snake oil and tainted vaccines then maybe Teddy Roosevelt (R) wouldn’t have felt compelled to start what was to become the FDA.
Thalidomide, typhoid fever, botulism… food and drug borne illnesses rarely seen now due to regulations. But, as we still see occasionally, some people still try to sell tainted products anyway:

Others may do it unknowingly, that’s why we require permits to sell food- so we can be sure people know how to do it properly. Makes sense. I know I wouldn’t want food from someone who allowed a snot-nosed kid to reach in and grab some popcorn before me.
This story was linked by Jessica yesterday and from a more in-depth local source not 2500 miles away. Referenced above under; “But without government, who would regulate the popcorn?”
The signals from our Lib Borg overlords are working well today.
If you read the fine print on the back of the Deportation Bus it says to make sure Will Kremer’s mother doesn’t find out that he’s working for Michael Williams, he told her that he is playing the piano in a whorehouse.
