The Netherlands Opening Atlanta Consulate General
Why Atlanta, you may ask? Because I met King Willem-Alexander back when he was merely a prince and he was so thoroughly impressed with my hometown. That’s it…
Anyway, Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte made the announcement during his official visit with President Trump yesterday.
Sigrid Kaag, Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation said:
Atlanta is a natural home for a new Dutch representation to further strengthen our partnership with the US. Atlanta is in many ways a gateway to the United States, while the Netherlands is a gateway to Europe. And much like Atlanta, the Netherlands is a hub for smart logistics, financial technology, and cybersecurity.
Considering how close KLM is with Delta I’m surprised it’s taken this long to have an official Dutch presence in Atlanta.
Regardless, on behalf of GeorgiaPol.com allow me to be the first to tell our incoming Dutch overlords: Goedemorgen! Welkom!

First a Dutch driver wins the F1 race this weekend, now this.
Can world domination be far behind?
Don’t they put mayonnaise on everything or something?
Holland-aise.
Given the popularity of Amsterdam’s, ahem, coffeeshops I’m surprised they didn’t go for Denver.
Touche!
Lets not over look the 50 plus year relationship with Hapag-Lloyd. And many many more….
