What do these three things have in common? The right to protest the lack of progress of equal rights for all in the last 55 years. We seem to be going backwards in our social development. .
We can’t go back to 1958, we have to look ahead to 2028. We need American society to become stronger, not divided.

I’m not opposed to consideration of modification to CON, but I’m predisposed to opposition to expansion for-profit hospitals and healthcare that by definition cherry-pick what they provide, and leave necessary and unprofitable care and services to others.

The fewer the privately insured, the worse the overall adverse effects of profit-based healthcare. It’s a step that increases basic healthcare segregation by economic status. Give an inch, and CTCA will want to buy another inch and another inch.

The alleged crimes are campaign finance-related and insider trading. Trump tweeted support for Manafort who was convicted of bank and tax fraud, and lobbying violations. Trump has yet to release his tax returns. Nothing fishy there. Fake news.

Previous law set the bar at 10 hours per day and 60 hours per week.

Some early excerpts from Bob Woodward’s book on Trump are coming out:
“Sessions has often found himself in Trump’s crosshairs for his recusal from any involvement in the probe of Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election.
But Trump also criticized Sessions for his southern accent, reportedly mocking it and saying of his own administration’s attorney general: “This guy is mentally retarded. He’s this dumb Southerner … He couldn’t even be a one-person country lawyer down in Alabama.”
Trump also called Sessions a “traitor” for recusing himself from the Russia probe, which is led by special counsel Robert Mueller, and putting Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein in charge of oversight.”
“NBC News had reported in April that Kelly called the president an “idiot” behind his back.
Kelly denied the report at the time, calling it “total B.S.” But Woodward’s book repeats the claim, according to the Post.
In a small meeting, Kelly reportedly said of Trump: “He’s an idiot. It’s pointless to try to convince him of anything. He’s gone off the rails. We’re in Crazytown. I don’t even know whe any of us are here. This is the worst job I’ve ever had.””
“Trump reportedly questioned why the U.S. was spending money and military resources in the Korean Peninsula during a National Security Council meeting in January.
Defense Secretary James Mattis responded: “We’re doing this in order to prevent World War III.”
Woodward reportedly said Mattis was “particularly exasperated and alarmed” after the meeting, “telling close associates that the president acted like — and had the understanding of — ‘a fifth- or sixth-grader.'”
“John Dowd, who was the main outside lawyer representing Trump in Mueller’s Russia probe, reportedly told the special counsel in March that he wanted to stop Trump from testifying in the Russia probe because “I’m not going to sit there and let him look like an idiot.”
Dowd told Trump later that month: “Don’t testify. It’s either that or an orange jumpsuit.”
But Trump reportedly told Dowd he would be “a real good witness,” to which Dowd replied: “You are not a good witness … Mr. President, I’m afraid I just can’t help you.”
Dowd resigned the next morning, according to the Post’s timeline of events.”

A near-constant subject of withering presidential attacks was Attorney General Jeff Sessions. Trump told Porter that Sessions was a “traitor” for recusing himself from overseeing the Russia investigation, Woodward writes. Mocking Sessions’s accent, Trump added, “This guy is mentally retarded. At a dinner with Mattis and Gen. Joseph F. Dunford Jr., the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, among others, Trump lashed out at a vocal critic, Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.). He falsely suggested that the former Navy pilot had been a coward for taking early release from a prisoner-of-war camp in Vietnam because of his father’s military rank and leaving others behind.
Mattis swiftly corrected his boss: “No, Mr. President, I think you’ve got it reversed.” The defense secretary explained that McCain, who died Aug. 25, had in fact turned down early release and was brutally tortured during his five years at the Hanoi Hilton.
“Oh, okay,” Trump replied, according to Woodward’s account.
With Trump’s rage and defiance impossible to contain, Cabinet members and other senior officials learned to act discreetly. Woodward describes an alliance among Trump’s traditionalists — including Mattis and Gary Cohn, the president’s former top economic adviser — to stymie what they considered dangerous acts.
“It felt like we were walking along the edge of the cliff perpetually,” Porter is quoted as saying. “Other times, we would fall over the edge, and an action would be taken.”
After Syrian leader Bashar al-Assad launched a chemical attack on civilians in April 2017, Trump called Mattis and said he wanted to assassinate the dictator. “Let’s fucking kill him! Let’s go in. Let’s kill the fucking lot of them,” Trump said, according to Woodward.
Mattis told the president that he would get right on it. But after hanging up the phone, he told a senior aide: “We’re not going to do any of that. We’re going to be much more measured.” The national security team developed options for the more conventional airstrike that Trump ultimately ordered.
Some of Mattis’ words are similar to the Tillerson word that cost Tillerson his job when they became common knowledge. Mattis has the uniform going for him, so it may take more laughter before Trump blows a gasket.
The more that comes out the worse it gets. And we still have Omarosa who apparently taped everything for an entire year. She can probably back up anything Woodward has with one of her tapes. LOL.

The comment I made about the NFL and chattel slavery was that I think the reason why that blacks are so over-represented in the NFL is due to the legacy of slavery. I did not mean to cast this in some eugenics light. Since American slavery is only four generations removed I think it is highly plausible the physical characteristics advantageous to football may be a product of the slave trade. This does not mean I think black males are less qualified for other occupations.
I did not mean that NFL players are slaves in any sense of the word. Still, my intended post and this explanation may be controversial and I admit that I might be completely wrong about this.

(An innocent person would say, OTOH, “I don’t what this person is talking about. I also believe the Country comes before the President.”)
It’s also like they didn’t read the Op-Ed itself, because then they would realize the writer has a grievance that he in fact values country. But no Suggestion Box for this President!
