Good morning, and happy birthday to my dad! Like Theresa, I read every comment on last Wednesday’s Morning Reads. I am definitely guilty of linking to news sites that put up a paywall after a few free articles, and I would like to gently suggest that if you find a news source where you’re frequently running through your freebies, you consider a subscription.
- Election Day is in two weeks, and more than 7,000 voter registration applications in Georgia have yet to be processed.

Why would you vote for someone even Deal has no use for?

This past week, Brian Kemp slammed Governor Nathan Deal, a member of his own party, for his record on criminal justice reform. Deal signed Senate Bill 407 into law earlier this year, which included “cash bail” reform, allowing judges to avoid requiring poor nonviolent criminals to pay cash bail.
Deal said that the legislation would “make Georgia a safer place to call home for all of its citizens by recognizing that mercy and accountability are not mutually exclusive.”
Kemp, who remains at the far right of the Republican Party, disagreed with this common-sense legislation, saying in a press release that it would “flood the streets with criminals”.
This is not the first time that Brian Kemp and Nathan Deal have failed to see eye-to-eye, with Deal throwing his support behind Kemp’s opponent instead of Kemp during the Republican runoff. Deal worried about the direction Kemp would take Georgia, saying, “My concern is, let’s not undo, or transform in a negative fashion, the good reforms that we’ve put in place.”

Voter turnout competition is pure genius! But it will not ever get popular support. it’s not stupid enough for that.

Like the actions of the Georgia Legislature in 1957 to add the Confederate battle flag as a response to Brown v. Board of Education as a clear signal to people of color that they didn’t have the same civil rights in Georgia as whites? Then to expect outrage that an African American as a college freshman protested and burned this symbol while it still flew in front of their capitol and schools. Yes, a certain type of GA citizen will judge her harshly for this, but as I already stated they weren’t going to vote for her anyway solely due to the melanin content in her skin, not the content of her character. Support of those old actions in 2018 should have consequences as well.

The insurance companies will attempt to not pay for a kidney stone if you are a cancer survivor using preexisting conditions clauses. Yeah, it’s back to the 1980’s with insurance where you had insurance that didn’t pay much. You went in the hospital and came out with a huge bill because the insurance companies excepted this charge or that charge and you had to get an itemized bill from the hospital and then fight with the hospital and the insurance company line by line to either get the hospital to write down the price or get the insurance company to pay for it.

Oh no they’re not. Obtaining asylum or refugee status are orderly legal processes for which people from other countries are supposed to apply individually in their own country prior to coming to the US. Not creating a flash mob of thousands in Central America, deliberately heading to storm across the American border (“They can’t stop us all”), illegally entering and tearing down Mexico’s southern border wall along the way. Aided and abetted by tax-exempt organizations from America providing buses and trucks, food and bottled water, etc., and who should have their tax-exemption yanked for their behavior, IMHO. There is nothing about this “the right way.”

Since refugee status is the first step of obtaining asylum status, it all legally begins outside the US. The thousands of illegals just showing up at US ports of entry are a symptom of the broken system.

Twitter deleted 50K accounts used by the GRU operatives, Facebook to my knowledge has never given the number but did delete millions of fake accounts.
