So we really won’t be saving any money, since Trump decided the savings will be used to build a wall that most Americans don’t want. Conservatives like to bitch about the government taxing taking people’s money to pay for things conservatives don’t want, but it’s OK to tax people for things conservatives do want. Thanks, Donald. I’ve been trying to find something in USMCA that would count as “Mexico paying for the wall.”
I can’t find anything.
And besides that, it has to pass Congress, which is not a done deal. Even Republicans are unhappy with how this is being handled.
But let’s say it passes, does greater access to Canada’s dairy market count as “Mexico paying for it”? Or higher wages for Mexican workers?
Why isn’t there a line item in there that says “Mexico’s payment for The Wall”? Are we trying to trick them into paying?

Benev, how much do illegal aliens cost American taxpayers each year? The linked article from Google says $116 billion. If it takes $5 billion a year for 3 or 4 more years to build it out, that implies that for $5 billion they could save $111 billion per year. Without Mexican help.

My math says that is a far better return than Trump got from paying Stormy Daniels $130,000 to shut up, she didn’t, and now she has to pay $350,000 of his legal fees! A 3 to 1 return. Not bad!

How many less drug crimes, overdoses, murders, healthcare, housing, educational and welfare costs will we have? Off the top of my head, I wouldn’t be surprised if it were true.
Obama’s policy was heavy on the deportation, with a focus on violent and other worst offenders. Some call that enforcing the law as efficiently as possible.
But the policy did insult and anger many on the leftmost.
But it didn’t get much media attention, and Fox and Breitbart probly ignored it heavily, so you either missed it, or were maybe you were misled to believe instead that all Dems favored open borders and non-citizen voting.
Or maybe you just believe that without any help from other peanuts in the gallery.

You need to define what ‘the wall’ means to you when you ask that question. “So do you support the wall?” Based on your history of your post, when you hear someone say they doesn’t support funding ‘the wall’, you hear some variation of ‘you open boarder, let everyone in, soulless MS-13 loving liberal socialist hater of America’.

Your next step is to ask me why I don’t support the wall. Pres. Trump’s Wall is not that most overall effective way to secure over 2000 miles of boader. The lawsuits against the US government forcing the sale of land held by families we have been on that land before the Mayflower landed will be long and expensive. Any walls can be breached eventually and will require endless updates or replacing. which will cost as much or more then the original wall. The overall maintenance the wall will also cost more to build the thing. It will still need to be patrolled and watched. We in general don’t even want to pay an extra 1 % in taxes to maintain and update our existing infrastructure and security related construction. It’s also a waste of limited materials and labor costs.
We need walls in select locations – which we do fund and pay to maintain. In fact any construction and renovation on boarder walls is being done with Obama era funding. We need to use methods that fit the location, the land owners, and the logistics of that section of the boarder. We need more funding for more techical solutions, such as drones, local intel, comunity interaction, etc.
You personally DTM need to branch out beyond your single focused new sources. If all you hear is what they tell you about the opinions of less then .025% of the far left you wouldn’t have to make statements like ‘Why is it that we NEVER HEAR ANY DEMOCRAT SAY THAT?’ You should ask why Sen. Perdue and Cotten along with Stephen Miller stopped the Graham Durben plan after Trump said he liked it. $25 Million for a wall, DACA inplace, addition resources for stopping illegal entry, over staying visa controls. Let me help you here, the trio talked Trump out of plan because it didn’t reduse or pin point LEGAL imigration. (which ironically will cause more illegal entry).
