I’m afraid the Russians were targeting a lot more than African Americans in 2016. They were working both sides of every street where friction in our society could be exacerbated:
New report on Russian disinformation, prepared for the Senate, shows the operation’s scale and sweep
The report, a draft of which was obtained by The Washington Post, is the first to analyze the millions of posts provided by major technology firms to the Senate Intelligence Committee.

About the only subject they remained mostly consistent on was lionizing Trump and demonizing Hillary Clinton, similar to a couple of the commenters on here.
I wonder if Russian cyber actors were involved in the Georgia Governor’s race?
I don’t see Russians under every bed, but in 2016 every intelligence agency we have has said they made a concerted effort to undermine our republic. Since then Facebook has deleted millions of accounts. Twitter has deleted over 50,000 known Russian intelligence connected accounts. Their agent in the NRA has confessed… That being said, Putin has suffered no real consequences from our Denier in Chief. On the scale of things I would guess they would have more interest in Georgia, the country’s elections, over the state of Georgia’s. I’m more concerned about bad actors of the domestic partisan variety here in the the state of Georgia.
Here is a basic explainer on the two reports and conclusions.

Disinformation is the core of every American political campaign. The Russians beat us at our own game. Embarrassing. But watch for new strategies by our political consultants that got schooled in better ways to lie.
Here is the monday morning reader from last week. https://chamblee54.wordpress.com/2018/12/17/convenient-suspension-of-disbelief/
“But Mr. Giuliani was not in Bahrain, a country with a record of human rights abuses, on official business. He was there to seek a lucrative security consulting contract with the government.”
https://www.nytimes.com/2018/12/12/us/politics/giuliani-consulting-abroad.html
“Truth isn’t truth” Giuliani, having just demonstrated his cyber-security expertise with his inability to recognize an internet addresses when he himself tweeted it, had this to say when reached in Bahrain: “I’m probably the most ethical person you ever met. I follow all the rules. I have no desire to trade on anything.”
“I sure as heck wouldn’t do any security work in Russia,” said Giuliani. Whew, we can rest easy that Giuliani, as he says of Trump, isn’t breaking any laws, at least none that matter. And besides laws aren’t broken unless someone finds out they’ve been broken.

Jon Ossoff vs Stacey Abrams would be fun. She would not be able to talk about voter suppression.
Think TGM pardons the Green Beret?
