Governor Kemp proposed a $27.5 Billion budget yesterday for FY 2020, a $1.3 Billion increase from FY 2019. Teachers are proposed to get $3,000, other state employees 2%, $1 Million to form a structure for Medicaid waiver request, and a half million for a GBI gang task force.
Kyle Merro is officially the new President of Georgia Southern University (the other GSU). The move creates an opening at the University of West Georgia. This leaves the University System of Georgia still with two open Presidencies to fill, with the Georgia Tech position to be available this summer.
Despite being about 9 years into economic recovery/expansion, Macon-Bibb officials are still trying to figure out how to pay for services without furloughing employees.
A Columbus man convicted of rape and murder and sentenced to death when I was in the third grade will get a new trial because DNA evidence may exonerate him. I thought about you Monday. I go to an auction in rural north GA. Mostly small business and entrepreneurs buying for flea markets and small Mom and Pops throughout the region.
Good folk, common but smart. For the past month, Trump 2020 swag (flags and caps) have come up for sale. Now ‘auction’ is loose because the price is often just a pretext for giving a better deal, in order to entice other buyers. So more than one person had the opportunity, hell, almost 100 buyers had the opportunity.
$2.00 3’x5′ Trump 2020 flags. $2 red caps.
No takers. Zero. None in 4 auctions where Trump 2020 swag is being sold. This is not about politics, it is about what sells and what is a ‘dog’. And the good conservative voters of north GA, the entrepreneurs and social security/disability ‘under the table’ cheaters, they all agree, Trump 2020 is not a solid purchase at this time. A ringer bought a dozen to try and entice sales. Didn’t work.

I also wonder, given what Mueller obviously knows, if it wasn’t one of the written questions to Trump – if he ever directed Cohen to lie to Congress. It doesn’t matter that I’m supportive of additional wall funding. Rewarding Republicans for their support of creating and taking hostages to compel action opposed by the majority complicitly normalizes hostage taking.
