Some especially good reads this AM.
Georgia’s roads look better and better the more you drive on other states’.
That hunter says the elephants made him shoot them.
The combination of slaves and graves is easily forgotten. Another link with some pix, although I doubt the headline is right: https://www.walb.com/2019/01/23/thousands-graves-unearthed-near-moultrie-cemetery/
Sure, require every 18 yo to register for the draft.
And it was all totally legal. And even if it wasn’t it was self defense.
Dude must have Rudy for a lawyer.
Stand your ground.

Ex-Trump lawyer Cohen postpones testimony to Congress, citing ‘threats’
“Trump called Cohen a “rat” in a tweet last month for cooperating with prosecutors. Cohen had been Trump’s self-described longtime “fixer” and once said he would take a bullet for the New York real estate developer.
In a Fox News interview this month, and other forums, Trump also suggested he had damaging information on Cohen’s father-in-law. “That’s the one that people want to look at,” Trump said in the interview. Giuliani also referred to possible issues with him.
Cohen’s father-in-law, Fima Shusterman, could not immediately be reached for comment. He has been involved in the taxicab business like Cohen himself.”
-Reuters
Which bad guy do you support?
I don’t support either man. However, does the President of the US have a higher duty to the rule of law than his one time fixer? Why would a man who holds the highest office in the land be telling us he knows of criminal activity but won’t divulge it unless Cohen refuses to testify?
Giuliani’s conduct is reprehensible. His implication that because Cohen’s father-in-law is from Ukraine that he is guilty of a crime is beyond acceptable. But, Trump and his enablers continue to openly abuse the legal process in ways we have never seen from a administration.
Two years is a long time and Trump can do a lot more damage to America in the meantime.
All the libs have to do is the Pelosi famous Wrap Up Smear and go after Trump, Kavanaugh, any conservative, the kid in Washinton … or Harry Reid on Romney’s taxes…just plain out lie, and say IF THIS IS TRUE then report on it all day long as if it I and the clueless chuds glom on, the targeted damage is done and nothing happens to the perps!
That is how you can turn a freaking red hat in 6 month into a White Hood that took the Klan 150 years to perfect. Thank you liberal haters and the liberal media.
I think Sniv has identified and another lib DOG WHISTLE! A freaking bow tie. Who would have figured the Pavlovian hate is so easy to unleash?!
THe next target with be the Catholic School uniform. Just watch.
Is the democratic party today the biggest hate group in America today? Look at the numbers. No one is even close. Who do you think it second? No one is close. Does the Klan have more than a 100 members any more? Does anyone encourage them? Does the Klan have the entire media complex behind them. I am sure they are jealous.
Was it a joke that some kid in a red hat has his life changed, his family’s life threated, the town threatened and tarnished and the school closed down to do a Pavlovian response of liberal hate and bigotry?
Am I barking up the wrong tree that Catholic School kids, their uniforms etc will be another liberal target? I am sure the angle will be the so called white privilege, possibly income inequality, their religious beliefs and they are often against abortion? So another group becomes an object of derision and scorn. Who is left?.
That is clearly bigotry of thought. I thought liberals were against bigotry. Am I wrong?
It is wrong, scary and pits the country against each other. I am not for that. Are you? The country is split about 50/50 on many of these issues. Why the hatred and intolerance?
What if you have 2…
Wait, what have I missed. If your father was a criminal, why would automatically make you one? I disagree. I thought you supposed to innocent until proven guilty in this country right?
We know the only ones guilty that have to prove their innocence are folks like Kavanaugh.
Back up at Greg’s comments Andrew relied to… “His (Giuliani’s) implication that because Cohen’s father-in-law is from Ukraine that he (the father-in-law) is guilty of a crime is beyond acceptable.”
I’m not explaining the rest.
Ellyn,
The problem is the DTM isn’t reading the posts. He’s responding with an almost unhinged diatribe. I’m really trying to relate to him as a person and not as an avatar because within his diatribe there is a kernel of truth which should be considered. But he’s continues to make it hard to take him seriously.
I will not insult him and I hope he can avoid being banned permanently but DD warned in the comment section on Tuesday and again in the MRs on Wednesday. I hope ALL of the worst offenders will make an effort to return to a higher discourse. Everyone has a bad moment or two but to continue with this 20 or 30 times a day as some have done is not defensible.
Thus why I didn’t explain the rest.
The current measles outbreak in Portland is being blamed on anti-vaccination sentiments. Parents can decide on personal or religious reasons not to have their kids vaccinated and Portland is an anti-vax hotspot with more than 85 percent of those who opted out doing so for non-medical reasons.
Asheville has another cluster of anti-vaxxers and in November they had NC’s worst chickenpox outbreak in 20 years.
Speaking as someone who has had both chickenpox and measles, I believe the state has a legitimate interest in requiring every kid to be vaccinated, with only medical exceptions allowed.
What say you? Should public health concerns or personal choice determine who gets vaccinated?
https://www.sciencealert.com/there-s-a-dangerous-measles-outbreak-in-an-antivax-hotspot-in-portland
Anti-vaxers are one of nations biggest public health threats. If you have ever seen a child with the measles you wouldn’t say it’s not a big deal.
Here’s what I say to anti-vaxers. “The next time your fat butt needs a stint or a heart bypass just suck it up. No need to use that wonderful life saving science. God gave us cholesterol so it must be good for you. You have cancer. Dang, wouldn’t it be nice if we have some cutting edge science to cure or prevent that? Oh what do you know? We do.”
The sad part with all this is that these crazy people are harming their own children by being this stupid.
Agree. I anticipate the vaccine is not 100% effective. Perhaps a civil suit charging the parents of a child they choose not to vaccinate going to school or another public place and infecting vaccinated others would do some good.
“The MMR vaccine is very safe and effective. Two doses of MMR vaccine are about 97% effective at preventing measles; one dose is about 93% effective.”
https://www.cdc.gov/measles/vaccination.html
If you do not get your child the MMR vaccine you are dumb. Other vaccine’s like flu can be debated because the efficacy rates are lower, but I still think you are dumb for not getting the flu vaccine too.
Science.
Good for public policy.
So a kid gets measles because a parent choose not to vaccinate, and the the parents take or allow the child to visit a public place and infects your vaccinated child resulting in permanent disability. Call Morgan and Morgan.
Yeah, but per the above science, your vaccinated child has a 97% chance of not getting infected no matter where you go.
Liability will be near impossible to prove.
I mentioned this before a few years ago. I was an infant when the MMR was a 2 or 3 phase scheduled vaccine. A month after the first one I was exposed to an eight year old with mumps in a store. I had a mild case on one side of my jaw. It is the side I also get the most ear infections. It’s not like you could or even would sue back then.
I’m all for personal responsibility along with personal repercussions for your own decisions. But when your personal decisions put my family in harms way it changes things. I may be a republican, but I’m one of the ones that believes in science.
It’s also finically smart to get vaccinated. They are cheap compared to getting sick.
Speaking of cemeteries… There is a very odd little cemetery behind a Waffle House in Savannah. It once once a community called Lepageville.
https://www.lepagevillememorialcemetery.org/
This reminds me of the small cemetery behind Perimeter Expo (between the shopping center and 285). Not many know it’s there. Check it out on Google maps.
https://dunwoodypreservationtrust.org/properties-houses-cemeteries/stephen-martin-cemetery/

Not to forget the backyard Todd Cemetery in Virginia Highland: https://vahi.org/todd-cemetery-memorial-destruction-and-restoration/
My friend surveyed that cemetery in 2003 when the property was sold and rezoned prior to the road being added and the intersection enlarged when the Parker’s was built. The gate and arch were listing to almost a 30 degree angle to the west and you could only see it in the fall when the leaves were gone. It’s technically behind the Dollar General next to the Waffle House, but I’ll give you a pass.
Well, that’s true, but I only know it because I’ve been to that WH a few times. Always the BEST grits there.
Today I learned the what is probably the easiest way to de-bunk a flat-earther.
The full moon has distinctive patterns of light and dark- craters and seas, for example.
In Australia the moon is upside down compared the the northern hemisphere.
Or you could just say, “Look, the Moon is round…”
But sans any rotation, its arguably a dish. There’s probably two percent that believe that so it deserves equal time.
Do you want to bet whether that 2% is liberal or conservative?
Yeah, but it’s not the “Flat Moon Society”.
Or maybe look Earline, the shadow of the earth is round. Or darn where did that sailboat go while we were staring at it from the beach…Global warming would be far worse if the earth was flat and didn’t rotate.
Mercury is very hot on one side. Minus 400 on the other. It doesn’t rotate…just a little tidbit. Neither does the moon.
Mercury rotates. One rotation takes about 59 Earth days. Put another way, in Mercury terms the Trump governmental shutdown has lasted about 14 hours. Seems longer.

Noway on Monday…
LMAO! Can I get anuther “AWWWWW NAWWWWW!!”
In June of 2008, Good Morning America predicted the following things due to Global Warming by 2015:
1. NYC under water
2. A gallon of milk will cost $12.99
3. A gallon of gas will cost $9.00
+++++++++++++++++++
Old hands already know it, but newbies may not know Noway doesn’t read his own citatiions..
From GMA: “However, the oddest concept of this upcoming special includes an interactive online game that Woodruff claimed ‘puts participants in the future and asks them to report back about what it is like to live in this future world.’ … At one point, Woodruff played a few examples of these ‘reports.’ In one, a teenager laments, “It’s June 8th, 2015. One carton of milk is $12.99.”
Attributing the statement of anonymous people playing a game as GMA making a prediction is like the GeorgiaPol staff declaring Noway a racist. that’s been said in the comment section, am I right?
Why is the State wanting to go on a spending spree like a bunch of drunken sailors? Why not accept the growth and cut income taxes.
Bloggingheads tv is a podcast series. Every week, they have a liberal/conservative conversation about current events. This week has the best comment I have heard about maga-hat-gate.
“it’s important because it’s important”
https://bloggingheads.tv/videos/54716?in=06:38&out=06:43
In other entertaining pundit comments, Avalon on cnn this morning referred to the shutdown as the “shut show”.
You can insert all five vowels into sh_t and get a scrabble ready word.
shet?
Urban Dictionary: Shet
https://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=Shet
Shet is a term used to describe invalid aliens sneaking onto our planet, it is code for when you notice an alien is near and must report but still remain in secret.
Savannah Guthrie asked the kid if maybe the harassment by the Indian wouldn’t have happened if he hadn’t WORN the hat. Right?
Would she have asked a woman if her harassment might not have occurred had she not WORN that form fitting dress?
Thanks, Libs! Utterly disgusting…
Guthrie: “Hey, Kid! You wuz askin’ for it!”
2.. Trump are you a Russian spy? Same thing isnt it?
QUESTIONS NOT ASKED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Obama are you an Iranian spy? I mean $152 billion…come on.
Hillary are you a Russian Spy? $140 million into your foundation. Come on! How much does uranium cost these days? Who cares right?
Assumption and characterization of “harassment” by Phillips doesn’t appear to hold any validity at all.
You want to prove otherwise, you should start with a valid definition of it.
Women have been being asked/accused of that for generations. What’s your point?
Oh, this is a layup!!
The only person getting any criticism is the use of the kid ” little Hoggie”. Who of course is too young to know he is a complete PAWN of the liberal machine. They are glomming on to the kid to ban the 2nd amendment. Does anyone want to dispute that? No one wants school shootings but who politicizes those –and their solutions do nothing?
See how the libs heap praise on one kid and another kid about the same age may as well be GD Lucifer for wearing a RED HAT? How sick and hateful is that? That kid is a random unnoticed kid without the hat, but because of the hat it sets off a Pavlovian Lib hate reaction doesn’t it? Who has the problem? The kid or the HATERS? Who are the professional haters here?
Who is the biggest is the biggest Hate Group or Bigot Brigade in America today?
Come to think about it, The Kid ought to sue the Twitter/Media/Leftist/Hollywood Haters, like his lawyer is talking about. It’s been done successfully before. When, you may ask? It worked for Richard Jewell!
Ummm, I will refrain…
Hey, lets make a list of PROMINENT LIBERAL HATERS that immediately tweeted hateful things on no evidence at all. Come on Andrew and others. Lets see who the haters really are!! Lets the who the charter members of the Liberal Hate Cabal are!!!
Being fair and balanced, try to fine FIND ANY QUOTE FROM ANY CONSERVATIVE CALLING ANY LIBERAL A RACIST OR NAZI! (other than Farrakhan who proudly says he is).
Deplorable is fine. I love the term. It probably won us the election!!!
Sure Andrew. I am fine. Just pointing out the obvious.
Every time I ask some tough questions, you just dodge them don’t you?! That is pretty obvious too. Even limp little buddy.
While we are talking here, who do you think is the largest hate group or maybe the largest group of bigots in the country today?
Some even actively and proudly scream their venom on a daily basis because the press is actually with them. They have almost no fear of reprisals…yet… The one I am thinking about does not even try to remain in the shadows…
Only one jumps to mind…how about you?
Andrew you check your list and I will check mine, like Santa. We can see who has been naughty or nice!
Lets see who can come up with the longest list of liberal haters. Okay?
Any rational discussion of the Covington school incident should include the following:
1) Why are kids on a school outing wearing any kind of political memorabilia? What if they did have on Obama/Biden 08 gear, or caps that said “Forget Hell” wouldn’t it have been just as inappropriate? They weren’t going to a Trump rally on their private time, they were on a school sponsored field trip.
2) This incident unfolded over at least one hour with insults being hurled at the students but no adults intervened. Where were the chaparones’ and why did they allow the students to be left in this position for so long?
These are testosterone filled teenage boys. I don’t know that we should have a higher expectation of them than we do for all the adults involved: 1) The four Hebrew Isrealites who abuse everyone, everywhere, all the time. 2) The chaparones’ who did not intercede to prevent this situation from escalating. 3) The tribal elder who may have had good intentions but never should have approached and starred down a teenager. 4) The president who never misses a chance to stoke racial and religious animus. 5) The twitter mobs who act first and think later (or not at all).
No one is blameless in this spectacle but everyone is using it for their own purposes so there can be no rational discussion of what happened, why it happened and what is says about us as a nation.
Where are the questions for the black racists who are almost totally to blame here? Does anyone want to say they were horrible, detestable and should be criticized to no end? I will. They are miserable folks.
Why is this not happening? I think we know don’t we? Who wants to confront them? They would have been beaten, shot or worse. Pick on the little white kid.
The parents were Chicken Sh– and so is the liberal press. Where is Savannah Guthree talking the black racists? Do you Mr. Racist think you did anything wrong?!
We liberals can’t make the blacks feel bad because if we don’t coddle up to them and have 95% of their vote, we will not win an election for dog catcher. Right?
We will still coddle up to Farrakhan…A miserable racist for decades but suck up to him because he can bring the black vote. Keith Ellison can beat up any girlfriend he wants and no one says a thing. No evidence on Kavanaugh and these are 30-40 year ago charges and everyone in liberal leadership believes it wholeheartedly. I doubt almost anyone actually believed those accusers…but said so anyway. Does anyone seeing a double standard?
Why in the hell can’t the kids go to Washington and have a good time without politically correct goobers busting their chops for doing nothing?
That not one liberal— NOT ONE—on this blog condemning the press here and blames the kid tells me the country has a huge problem identifying who is the biggest hate group in the country. They cant admit they are a member of it.
You did not read anything I wrote. Your response is simply a rehash of the same things you have been saying all along. I was hoping we could elevate the discussion beyond screaming at everyone else but I guess that’s not going to happen here anymore.
It is not going to happen until the human logic bomb to rational discussion is removed.
So Trump is giving the 6 GOP senators a ‘pass’ on the democrat CR voting because hurricane relief funding for their areas that was involved? I really really want to know how Colorado, Alaska, and Utah hurricane damage? I could see a long shoot typhoon skipping along the tops Rockies… Or a rogue cold water loving typhoon visiting the Artic Wildlife refuge to do some sight seeing, but an Atlantic hurricane? In Alaska?
Isn’t Collins gonna run for gov?
Curiosity just got the better of me. I Googled ol’ Ted. Saw a recent speech on the senate floor. First of all, let me comment how lucky we are to have such a statesman up in Washington!
Second, that top button of his suit jacket did look a little strained.
Point for Andrew!
I thought he was trying to look hip for the new breed of Texas voters.
The role of teen age Tony in the new “Sopranos” prequel, “The Many Saints of Newark” will be played by Mr. Gandolfini.

What bunch of losers.
Who dat?
I heard Trump was claiming his wall would keep trucks laden with drugs from driving across the desert to bypass ports of entry.
Trump informed himself having recently used Executive Time to recently watch vehicles in a desert in “Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome”.
