Happy Birthday Ginny!

You know her as the fine person who brings you Friday’s Morning Reads (now with less acrimony in the comments section!). You used to know her as “Obi’s Sister”.

She’s one of the first people I met when I assumed the big title and needed new contributors. We had traded notes about her blog and bonded over a mutual appreciation for fried food. (With Carver’s now closed, we’ve moved on to cajun seafood at Gumbeaux’s in Douglasville for active mutual appreciation, though I have her awesome husband now hooked on Pier 213 in Marietta.)

But enough about food. Ginny likes to keep a low profile, so I can’t tell you the many ways she’s an awesome person. Like maintaining UGA fan status in the hardest of situations. Or like smiling while bearing the burden of alzheimer’s. Or raising two kids into adulthood with all involved alive and outwardly healthy.

She balances all of that and manages to keep us informed. Happy birthday Ginny, and may the force continue to be with you.
