Happy Half-Off Chocolate Day!
- It’s a gauntlet, man.
- Pitchers and catchers, finally.
- Seriously, the Sheriff’s Office is CLOSED.
- It’s not dead yet. It’s feeling better. (Hopefully.)
- Those Clemson fans will do anything.
- Hey, Wyoming state Senator – that’s not how any of this works.
- New York shoots itself in the foot. (Hey, remember us? WinkWinkNodNod)
- But does she float? Like a duck?
- Faster, please.

End of the week and non political.
I just realized why Mayberry was so peaceful and quiet. Nobody was married. Andy, Aunt Bee, Barney, Floyd, Howard, Goober, Gomer, Ernest T. Bass, The Darlins, Helen, Thelma Lou and Clara. If fact, the only one who was married was Otis. And he stayed drunk all the time!
This is worth stealing but it would only get me in trouble.
Go ahead! It is hilarious!
Sure is! And who knew Opie would grow up to be a big-time movie producer? ‘Guess it was that childhood tranquility, made him so smart.
No, I’ll pass. It’s just not worth it, I like peace.
Has anyone read the Howard Schultz book “From the Ground Up”? I am curious about something. His wikipedia page says his family was poor but he got a sports scholarship to college, but then he decided against playing sports. So wouldn’t he have lost his scholarship at that point? How did he pay his way through (an out of state) college? Not only that, it says he was in a fraternity, which isn’t free.
I assume these details are in the book?
edit: Well I just found this on his webpage:“In 1971, I arrived at Northern Michigan University—a world away from Canarsie—with the hope of getting a football scholarship, but it never materialized. I stayed at NMU and paid my way through school with student loans and part-time jobs. I even sold my blood for cash when things got really tough.
Still seems weird though.

The big brain finally figured out that shutdowns make you a loser, and the dealmaker found out that every time negotiations are reopened there is less for the wall.
Trump’s exposure as a feckless dimwit and Dems no longer bringing knives to gun fights constitute a national emergency. Sure, they’ll be some mumbling, but the GOP is the Trump party now. And speaking of guns, their unnecessary firepower, ready availability and ease of acquisition in the context of mass shootings is a national emergency.
The image of Schumer looking straight ahead slightly smiling and rocking as Trump, thinking he was owning the libs, blared toward Schumer’s ear he would be proud to shut down the government is one for the ages.
Do the Braves think their fans are idiots? You could make the case. I’m not complaining about Liberty seeing the Braves and their mostly free stadium mainly as a real estate play. I’d be looking at the big picture as well if I had multi-millions to invest in a ball club. But it would be nice if they’d spend in ways that would make it more likely that a young, exciting, skilled team excels. Pony up for an established starting pitcher, find an upgrade over Markakis in right, and, much as I like McCann, sign a backup catcher who doesn’t look as if he’s done.

Previous tweet from his majesty before taking the throne:
“Repubs must not allow Pres Obama to subvert the Constitution of the US for his own benefit & because he is unable to negotiate w/ Congress.”
6:36 AM – 20 Nov 2014
Where are the “conservative” Republicans that have cried for years that they are strict constitutionalists?
If you haven’t noticed, pocket constitutions disappeared when the African American President left office, exposing many as partisan hacks instead of patriots. Just like decades of concern about deficit spending and blaming it on Dems was a lie.
Speaking of deficits, Trump’s plan is to tap military appropriations, highlighting that there’s money in military budgets to spare.
Alright guys. We just issued a stop work on all jobs going through the shop. I have been task to locate all the latest drawings for the upgraded Nimitz class Ark. It was decided there is enough room for 2 of all the animals plus have separate berthing’s for Democrat and Republicans since neither side can agree where to put the wall or even if a wall is needed to keep the sides separated. The time line for project completion is 39 days. If we can’t meet the schedule the project will be canceled due to the fact after 40 if it’s not completed it will not be needed and we will be canceled.
Y’all stay dry this weekend, rain till the end of February, good grief….
Opinion piece from the Washington Examiner not normally noted for siding with those dastardly libs:
https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/opinion/republicans-warned-the-left-would-gut-the-constitution-trump-did-it-instead
The mere fact that Congress hasn’t acted doesn’t constitute an emergent crisis requiring funding sources outside the normal constitutional order. Indeed, even Trump made clear that illegal border crossings have been at some of their lowest points in decades tweeting: “Because of the Trump Administrations actions, Border crossings are at a still UNACCEPTABLE 46 year low.”
So where’s the fire?
So our Super took out a classified “Notice of Intention to Introduce Local Legislation” The want to limit our tax exemption on seniors for house and five acres. They really wished it didn’t exist at all even though it has been in effect since 2008. When I look at OGCA 28-1-14 that is a law governing the general assembly. So wouldn’t it be the legislator(s) duty to make this advertisement and not the Super. So would that mean the legislator(s) would still have to take out a legal ad to satisfy OGCA 28-1-14? I mean she can’t introduce legislation only the legislator can. If this counts oscar the grouch from sesame street could take out ads like this but a normal person would not pay attention to it.
Wow! It sure is calm on here, this peaceful rainy afternoon when I found time to drop by. And I love your blurbs for today, Ginny. Especially the one about NYC libs shooting themselves in the foot on Amazon. They don’t need no stinkin’ jobs, right? Just keep those welfare checks coming and let that part of the city keep crumbling.
Occasional Cortex was actually beating her chest on last night’s news, claiming credit for running off the capitalists! She’s a real asset,,,,, for the Republicans.
Foxconn worked out for Wisconsin. What could go wrong?
Even using the stopped clock rule I am shocked that I’m in complete agreement with Ann Coulter’s statement:
‘Only national emergency is that our president is an idiot.’
Coulter for president!
If she runs what are the odds he calls her a “horseface”?
