Morning Reads for Monday, February 25, 2019
Happy Monday, y’all.
- I have literally been holding onto this all weekend waiting to share it with you. This twitter conversation won the internet. The state of our world and the people who feed us information consistently baffles me.
- Bless this child’s heart. If your eyes are not open to the sex trafficking epidemic with this whole R. Kelly saga and how it is literally happening in our own backyard, I don’t know what will.
- Come on, Beer Guys…can’t we all just get along? Apparently, not if you use corn syrup in your beer.
- Advice from Grandmothers worth listening to.
- $19M worth of cocaine was found in a shipment of pineapple in the Savannah Port.
- A list of Oscar Nominated films made in the Hollywood of the South.
- This was probably my favorite interview on CBS Sunday Morning yesterday. Angie Dickinson is my new favorite person.
- A look at the 2019 U.S. Solar forecast.
- UGH. So, Delta, American, United and Singapore Airlines HAVE cameras in the headrests staring back at you, but they have never activated them…supposedly.
- The Pope compares child sex abuse to human sacrifice...
Eh. That seems like an awfully dark note to leave you with on this Monday morning. How about something a little less icky?
I mean, why wouldn’t this incredibly cute picture of my niece make your Monday better? You’re welcome.

I’ve never understood the fascination with Twitter. A lot of ideas need more than 140 characters to explain, but the limitations of that environment also play into the mindset of the young and arrogant. A brief burst of words covers up the ignorance that becomes revealed when you have to write an essay on something. It’s like when someone looks at you and says: “You just don’t get it.” They are never called to explain what “it” is because, in many cases, “it” is really someone else’s ignorance.
I think it’s just the continuation of a long trend. Starting (in my lifetime) with FedEx, and fax machines, and pagers, then cell phones, cnn, Blockbuster video, email… I want everything RIGHT NOW!”
The character limit was expanded to 240 characters a while back.
Solar might really take off if Trump dropped the 30 percent tariff on solar cells and panels.

Did Andy Warhol really say “In the future everyone will be famous for fifteen minutes”? Maybe, maybe not. If you can’t be cynical about Andy Warhol…
