A few twitter updates regarding this shocking corruption on display that is called HB316:
@SenSteveHenson reminds the committee on #HB316 that there were bills requiring hand-marked paper ballots that did not receive a hearing. The bill was rushed through the Senate. The public will judge whether the process has been prudent.
In the hearing for #HB316, @sallyharrellga presents an amendment that would require human readable ballots, not barcodes, be the method through which votes are tabulated. The amendment fails along party lines.

This is our Sec. of State’s General Counsel asking Senators to vote AGAINST requiring forensic examination of our voting machines after each general election to ensure our voting systems/results weren’t tampered with.
All GOP Senators voted against forensic exams.
How last year’s bill to require paper could be interpreted to mean a machine produced paper ballot indecipherable to the voter is beyond me.
This might, just might, throw a little sunshine on the dog’s ass:

There’s no evidence provided indicating how much more barcodes can be tabulated reliably and/or cheaply than by optical readers.
But then again, the standard is pretty low, given an 80,000 vote undercount is acceptable to the GOP.
