U.S. manufacturing output fell for a second straight month in February, mainly from declines in the output of motor vehicles, machinery, and furniture. Utilities output increased as did oil and gas drilling.
“Manufacturing activity, which accounts for about 12 percent of the economy, is losing steam as the boost to capital spending from last year’s $1.5 trillion tax cut package fades. Activity is also being crimped by a trade war between the United States and China as well as by last year’s surge in the dollar and softening global economic growth, which are hurting exports.” The strong dollar and weakening overseas markets are complex issues, getting rid of tariffs and avoiding debt-financed giveaways not so much.

Statements from our Senators regarding New Zealand:

My heart goes out to the families and loved ones of the victims of the heinous attacks in New Zealand. I stand strongly against all cowardly acts of terror and hate and offer our nation’s support to a country in mourning.
@Perduesenate
….
The identities of the victims and shooters and the second amendment speak for him.
Anyone else notice that Isakson voted to uphold Trump’s border emergency declaration, but plans to co-sponsor legislation so next time Congress must approve a declaration?
I’ve said many times that the “if it’s legal it’s ethical” GOP will be changing laws to maintain its power as its minority erodes. The Isakson legislation is another example of it.

Isakson explained that the wall was more important than separation of powers. Besides, we may not have another President as intelligent as Trump when the next emergency strikes, so it’s important that Congress approve.
He traded his principals for money for the deepening of the Savannah river. He knew the issue couldn’t have passed with a veto proof majority so he made a calculation to sacrifice his beliefs just as the rest of the GOP does daily.
To be fair, he’s seemed to be somewhat more adherent to his sense of independent beliefs than others. Choosing battles is efficient.
The legislature needs to pass a law that makes it illegal to deliver contraband via a T-shirt gun. I mean isn’t that what they wanted to do for drones? Well friends I am hear to tell you today that the real threat our Georgia Prison face today is from T-shirt Guns. My friends on the left can agree to this because it is a form of gun control. My friends on the right can like it because it gets tough on contraband smugglers. It is time in Georgia take a stand against using T-shirt guns for contraband smuggling. https://local21news.com/news/offbeat/t-shirt-gun-used-to-launch-contraband-into-oklahoma-prison
I went to High School and College in Texas, and I love pecan pie. But I must say that a Texas pecan pie (usually made from Texas paper-shell pecans) is not nearly as good as a Georgia pecan pie—the pecans in Georgia have a much richer flavor. We need to have our own vending machine. Put it somewhere near my house, and I will keep them in business.
