Morning Reads for Monday, March 18, 2019
All right, y’all. 8 Legislative Days to go.
- Facebook has already removed over 150 million videos of the New Zealand terrorist attack.
- Prayer for the Cobb County Police Department.
- I don’t know why this quote makes me laugh…but it does. “O’Rourke told a voter who asked about his language: “Great point, and I don’t intend to use the F-word going forward. Point taken, and very strongly made. … We’re going to keep it clean.”
- I’m still eating scrambled egg sandwiches. #sorrynotsorry
- Maybe it’s just me, but I have never thought to buy a gun from Dick’s Sporting Goods…
- Confession: I put cups over cockroaches when Randy is out of town so he can kill it and throw it away when he comes home. Question: Do you think I could find a cup big enough to put on top of one of these?
- Y’all. If Wes Cantrell wins this one, parents across the state (and ya know…people like me) will sing him into folklore from here til the end of time.
- Georgia-Pacific is investing $20 million into a Rome mill.
- If this is a preview of 2020, y’all buckle up!

Here is the chamblee54 weekly reader for last week. https://chamblee54.wordpress.com/2019/03/18/mark-twain-rhymes-with-public-domain/
so hey, is there going to be a gapol ncaa bracket?
Apparently HB481 (the ‘heartbeat bill’) has passed out of committee.
Senate? I thought it had already passed the House. The last I saw they were trying to add a tax deduction for an embryo with a heartbeat. Obviously a back door “personhood” establishment attempt and just adding to the
cluster…imbroglio.Yes. The Senate “Science and Technology” committee.
“Lt. Gov. Geoff Duncan last week appointed state Sen. William Ligon, R-Brunswick, to the committee to ensure the legislation’s passage. The Senate Science and Technology Committee normally has two Democrats and two Republicans as members, with Buford Republican state Sen. Renee Unterman — as chairwoman — only voting when there is a tie.”

Apparently the GOP didn’t trust Unterman to stay in the fold on this one.
If we’re doing tax breaks, let’s walk this thing all the way down the slippery slope and start giving me tax breaks for 525 billion sperm cells I’ll produce during my lifetime. #GOPlogic
Memo to the Fox News editors: There is nothing profane about the f-bomb. It is a plain old Anglo-Saxon vulgarity. (And according to George Carlin the most versatile word in the English language).
One possible solution to the tegus lizard problem would be to go to the southern portions of Georgia, Alabama, and Mississippi and tell the local sportsmen that:
Tegus lizards taste good in brunswick stew.
Tegus lizards are out of season.
There’s a bag limit of 8.
A true LOL on that.
