Conservative Combat Veteran to seek 7th Congressional Seat
Lawrenceville’s Harrison Floyd is reported to be preparing a campaign for the Republican nomination in the race for the 7th Congressional District seat currently held by retiring Congressman Rob Woodall. Floyd is a 10-year veteran of the Marine Corps with three combat tours and is making the rounds of conservative organizations seeking support for his run in 2020.
He has earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with dual minors in History & Law in Society, from George Washington University and is pursuing a Master’s in Professional Studies, with a focus in Legislative Affairs, at GW’s Graduate School of Political Management with plans to obtain a Juris Doctor to complete his education.
Floyd is currently a Policy Fellow at the U.S. Commission on Security and Cooperation in Europe, and an Advisory Board Member of the American Freedom Fund. He has previously interned in the marketing department of the Heritage Foundation. He has also served as Policy Director for GW Vets, on the Fiduciary Board of the HillVets Foundation, and as the Chairman of the Board of Governors for the 2017 Veteran Awards.
