Commission, Committees Announced

Contrary to what a lot of people believe, the work of the Georgia Legislature doesn’t begin in January. Complex issues are given to study committees, where the issues get some pre-session consideration. House Speaker David Ralston’s office announced the appointed members of a joint commission, a House study committee and a joint study committee. From the press release:

Joint Georgia-North Carolina and Georgia-Tennessee Boundary Line Commission (Created by HR 51):

• Rep. Steve Tarvin (R-Chickamauga)

Johnny Tolbert III House Study Committee on Heat-Related Injuries, Cardiac Injuries, and other Sports-Related Injuries (Created by HR 259):

·         Rep. William Boddie (D-East Point) – Vice Chair

·         Rep. Demetrius Douglas (D-Stockbridge)
