Stock market near all time high. 401ks never better! Unemployment lowest un history. More achievements by trump!!
Thanks Obama!
What are we thanking Obama for? Did I miss something?
Yes. https://www.cnsnews.com/news/article/terence-p-jeffrey/12839000-manufacturing-jobs-highest-level-2008 .
So Dougie Collins can show up to a Judiciary Committee hearing when he knows the TV cameras will be on him, but he can’t be bothered to show up and listen to the needs of 9/11 first responders.
Same apparently applies to Jim Jordan, Matt Gaetz, and a bunch of Democrats, too. What a disappointment.
John Dean? 45 year old reflections. Put a blonde wig and some horn rims and call him johnnie blasey ford. About the same degree of relevance.
Well, the New York Times editorial board finally makes sense about the disaster at our nation’s southern border and spreading:

Did the left lie to the American people for a year saying that Trump made up this crisis?
Uh, yep they did. Just always remember: If their lips are moving (or fingers typing), you can be pretty sure they’re lying.
I have noticed that. I thought it was just me!
There is a crisis at the border, it’s just not something that a wall will fix.
There needs to be expanded detention facilities, more judges, and streamlined processing.
But you can’t put all that on a bumper sticker (or hat) so a lot of people won’t understand it.
edit: Oh, and we should be working with Central American countries to help them resolve their own crises that are causing the refugee exodus in the first place instead of cutting off more aid to them- which is making the problem worse.
Thank goodness for Trump’s double secret agreement that he sprung on us yesterday. No more illegal voters flooding into America and illegals will have to show voter ID to vote!
It is beyond crisis at this point, but the House Dems who control the national checkbook are happy fiddling while Rome burns. They’d rather see our US social order destroyed than to help Prez Trump change the situation. I agree that a wall will not fix all the problems, but it is now a necessary part of any long-term solution. And there would be no exodus to the US from other countries if they knew they would not be able to just walk across our borders lawlessly. Our country cannot survive what’s happening right now.
Once we have a wall to stem the flood of people from all over the world, I believe the feds need to reduce the annual number of immigrants to zero for a temporary moratorium, and take time to teach all the new people already in our country to speak English, what US laws are and how the system works, check people for existing diseases and give preventive vaccinations to protect American citizens, etc. of assimilating into US society before anything else. Heck, I’ve seen newcomers from other countries who don’t even know how to flush a toilet, and are scared to death when somebody else does! What’s going on is like throwing people into a time warp with no preparation at all.
Psssst. The Republicans had 2 years of total control of the White House, House, and Senate and failed to take any substantive measures to address illegal immigration.
And there would be no exodus to the US from other countries if they knew they would not be able to just walk across our borders lawlessly.
A majority of “illegal” immigrants are visa overstays. A wall won’t do anything from deterring folks from getting on airplanes.
As for “walking across the border,” I’d encourage you to try crossing hundreds of miles of desert before you opine on what does and doesn’t serve to deter folks from attempting to enter the United States.
I believe the feds need to reduce the annual number of immigrants to zero for a temporary moratorium
What a wonderful message to cling to as we celebrate the 80th anniversary of the US turning away the MS St. Louis.
teach all the new people already in our country to speak English, what US laws are and how the system works
Considering the President of the United States frequently struggles with his command of the English language and has an incredibly limited understanding of basic civics and economics, I think we should maybe focus on educating him first.
That statement about visa overstays is an extrapolation based on the number of people apprehended at the border each year, doesn’t include the thousands who make it past the Border Patrol or cross along the 1,300 miles with no fencing at all. Fuzzy math at best, deliberate falsehood by proponents at worst. Don’t buy into it.
You should monitor a lecture by Fang Zhou, a legal immigrant himself and a UGA Gwinnett professor who teaches immigration, with particular emphasis on the difference between legal and illegal. As he states, “Anti-illegal is legalism.” The current term “Illegal immigrant” is a misnomer, like calling drug dealers “illegal pharmacists.”
Don’t let your hatred for our current POTUS cause you to trivialize the huge flood of illegal aliens into America. And if our government has hard data saying millions of people are also living here illegally on expired visa’s, the State Dept. needs to send them home. Use our tax money for that, instead of throwing millions $$ in grants to NGO’s who use it to pad their own pockets while importing even more 3rd world people. All versions of human trafficking industry are deplorable.
“It is beyond crisis at this point”
In what way? Unemployment is at extreme lows, productivity is good, no food shortages, taxes are what the isolationists have chosen… What is the crisis?
“They’d rather see our US social order destroyed”
What social order is that?
“Our country cannot survive what’s happening right now.”
Why? What will happen?
“Once we have a wall to stem the flood of people from all over the world”
Albanians are coming?
“check people for existing diseases and give preventive vaccinations to protect American citizens, “
If we just promise not to punish them for seeking help this would be already be taken care of.
“assimilating into US society”
Why is it that immigrants like Albert Einstein and Chef Boyardee aren’t subjected to some “assimilation” test but Hispanics are?
Poor Pelosi…
