Why don’t they do it on the steps of a church? Why be confrontational about this?
When they say “steps” I assume they mean like on the sidewalk just below any stairs, so they’re not blocking people going in or out, or yelling in anybody’s ears. As long as they let people freely pass, I like the idea of some public engagement. What I couldn’t see was any formal group or organization taking credit for the logistics, which means it’s a coalition of loose affiliations?

Trump has probably had sea turtle soup. I don’t think he cares about wildlife one bit.
Unless you are talking about the loggerhead Republicans such as Mitch McConnell and Bill Barr who do resemble turtles.
