Archival Atlanta: Electric Street Dummies, the Great Stonehenge Explosion, Nerve Tonics, and Bovine Laws : Forgotten Facts and Well-Kept Secrets from Our City’s Past is a book about Atlanta history.
Speaking of obscure, do you remember the location of a restaurant downtown called the “Crosskeys”. There’s a photo of it in the Georgia State Library archives, but no notation of its location other than it appears to be near a big Gulf Oil lighted sign.
I have seen that picture.
There is a historic brass marker near Ashford Dunwoody and Johnson Ferry. Apparently there was some kind of trail crossing there called Cross Keys.
Full disclosure: I went to Cross Keys High School. Nobody ever talked about what Cross Keys was. Google is not much help, except for an 1862 Battle of Cross Keys in Virginia.
Actually, I was thinking of another picture of the same scene, but taken from the opposite direction, looking downhill instead of uphill. But it’s the same location. I’m thinking that it is on Peachtree, north from Baker Street, but the side street doesn’t fit in. Both Peachtree and W. Peachtree had trolley bus wires……
Where is Franklin Garrett when we need him?

Actually, my question was about a restaurant called “Crosskeys”, which was located on Peachtree Street, next to the Atlanta Gas Light Company. Thanks, though.

Don’t worry North Georgia we’ve got all seven of our reactors at full power. https://www.timesfreepress.com/news/breakingnews/story/2019/aug/14/hot-weather-pushes-tva-power-peak-highest-august-seven-years/501133/
Another county goes down to the accidental legalization of marijuana in Georgia. http://www.northwestgeorgianews.com/region/cobb-halts-prosecution-of-minor-marijuana-possession/article_c7af9f67-dcad-508f-a4c0-fd832ef9d86a.html Could Democrat’s use this as a campaign issue next year as Sheriff’s put pressure on legislators to fix the law? Or will Republicans not take the bait scared swing districts will go Democrat if they try to “fix” it?
Here’s a good photo of the 1st ID in Georgia. https://strategypage.com/military_photos/military_photos_20190806205413.aspx The other one.
Guess you can’t boost investor confidence by yelling at the Fed on Twitter.
Until you can’t or it doesn’t work.
You should learn to trust The Great Negotiator.
“CRAZY INVERTED YIELD CURVE! We should easily be reaping big Rewards & Gains, but the Fed is holding us back. We will Win!”
See, none of this is his fault. None of anything bad is ever his fault. MAGA!
